Thought they had decided to keep Rondo. Will be interesting to see where he ends up. If they're rebuilding they won't want Melo, so that leaves us out. Wonder where Rondo will end up if he is traded?

If the Celtics cannot get Love, they are planning to continue with the longer and more methodical rebuilding process, a process that would likely see Rajon Rondo traded. (An NBA source said they would also have a taker for Jeff Green if they chose to move him.)

The Lakers. Book it. Before Embiid broke his foot, I presumed that Marcus Smart was going to fall to 7th and be a perfect chip to acquire Rondo. Things are a little murkier now but time will tell. If anything, the Lakers could include additional first round picks to entice Boston further.

Interesting, if Boston is rebuilding, multiple first rounders including a 7 pick would be enticing.

I see trouble between Howard and Harden in the near future if Harden continues to dominate the ball, especially if the results are the same next season.

could be, which is why rondo makes sense, he will control the ball and as we have seen he has no problem say no, to even bigger names than harden..

Harden has to work on his defense...he already is such an offensive threat, but to be great in this league, you have to give effort on both sides of the ball...

True, he wouldn't back down from 3 future HOFers. If Rondo went there the expectations would rise for this team, and for Harden to do things like improve his D.

They already have 12 first round picks in the next 6 years (including this year's draft) and an additional 8 second round picks during that span. With the Lakers picks, they can add at least 2 more first round picks, which would be an incredible feat. The possibilities are endless.

Ainge has had a hard time trading Rondo before. Its not his talent, its his head.

Ainge seeks big asset back. Rondo Still not proven himself post ACL. 7th pick? If Celts can do that they should.

Lakers do that? With Nash on the payroll? Nash ready to come off the bench?

Might have been Rondo's acl which made him harder to trade than his personality. I agree that he can be a handful, its why I had no interest in him when he was going through all the drama with the big 3. Kind of softened that position since we have such an underwhelming roster with very few picks. Doesn't matter because we have nothing Boston wants unless we can manage something with a 3 team trade.

Must be nice to be a Celtic fan. Danny Ainge has a great eye for talent, so I expect for him to make those picks worthwild.

Those are all things to be considered. The guy is still a walking triple double waiting to happen. The league has had tumultuous personalities before, so I don't think they'll hold it against him much. Like you alluded to, I think Ainge is either waiting for an offer to bowl him over or that 2nd (maybe 3rd star) to make having Rondo worthwhile.

I heard on espn that Rondo has more triple doubles over the last few years than even Lebron.

So i guess I'll throw Melo in this convo.....

Rondo said recently that "the sky's the limit" if they get Melo....

so why can't we get the same deal for Melo? Maybe not the future pick but definitely their 2 first rounds this year.

Rondo and Melo makes sense together. Either here or Boston.

If they want Melo giving us their 2 first rounders is only right. Give the Knicks Jeff Green too for cap filler.

If Golden St can't get Love, then make that tyson for David Lee deal.

We get Lee and Green as a restart in the front court.... Then we have draft picks to help fill out the rest of the roster.

Fuck it....Knicks are rebuilding more than just the roster. High character mofo that can play with anyone. I'm down for whatever. This kid Emmid might fall to #6 too.... sounds good to me.

Stranger things have happened.

Yeah, you would think that Melo would be plan B. He is 30, with injuries becoming more frequent. Wouldnt mind Green as well as a 6th man instead of JR.

I've wondered the same thing aloud on several occasions. They'd be just one player away from being a serious title contender and considering the number of picks they have, I'm sure that they'd be able to get that 3rd wheel.

Love has had a bad injury history too so if it's ok to invest in Love then it should be fine to invest in Melo....the age is definitely an issue...but that's why I say no future picks should be involved. The two first rounders and say Jeff Green and a young player plus an exemption to cover the rest is a good deal for Melo.

makes too much sense....Boston actually has enough assets to get Melo and Love and make this a remix of the Pierce and KG years....I would not mind making that happen for them because the Knicks will be justly compensated for it
