Says it was no accident that Phil and Melo was out a few days later after Phil's press conference...Melo didnt like that Phil tried to pressure him thru the media to take less...

news flash: phil does this all the time. melo can get in line of the players that got mad at phil for saying things about them to the media.

I think Stephen was stating his opinion that Melo is not the kind of guy to play with like that

What are u talking about, which part??...I meant to say if it didnt come over correctly that SAS said this is the insider part of him talking not the radio host side of him...Did you hear him not say that??

SAS is usually reliable as a reporter. it's his commentary that turns people off.

Because it very relevant to the Knicks' off season...It was someting that has been speculated by posters here..Whether or not Phil's comments would rub Melo the wrong way..Playing Zen games with the media...

Melo said he'd consider less in February.

Listen to Phil reiterate that from your own ears, it was said very lightly and in context a positive way.

Time line: Melo and Phil had a post season sit down.

Conclusion: This thread has old information.

Opinion: Phil didn't come here to fail. Expectation of a starphuch kind of moment is not out of line. does it happen?

Phil needs slow his role playing Zen master with the media...He isn't the commodity, the players are...He need not try to back Melo into a wall using the press..I'm no genius but I could have made the call that this wouldn't be well received...Dude is a free agent and have options...
