It's amazing they didn't lose by 20+ with the numbers their backcourt put up. Shump was also 2-7. It's actually impressive how bad all these guys were tonight.

Wow....you would think they quit on the team, but I think they were actually trying to score...which is even worst!

The entire backcourt was 9/41.

Outside of Amar'e and Melo (neither one played a good game) the team was 10/51.

It's hard for an interior player to have a good game offensively when the defense can pack it in like that. I think considering the circumstances Melo and Amare had pretty decent games.

Amare had a decent game? Every minute he is on the floor he is a net negative because he will ALWAYS give up more points than he gets. Check this out:

DRUMMOND CUTS TO THE BASKET RIGHT NEXT TO HIM AND HE HAS NO FRICKING IDEA. HE'S OBLIVIOUS

"They just couldn't hit shots !"

The Mike Woodson support club, when he need to talk about defense ALL
woodson cares of is how many shots they put up, its only about shooting shots.

Thats was tyson fault, as much as felton gets beat, amare is waiting for the penetration, tyson is actually facing drummond who walks right by tyson who gives zero effort to defend or even get in his way.

Tyson at least saw the play, he just made no effort like he always does. Amare is standing there like a vegetable guarding no one. I challenge you to tell me who he is guarding. No defensive awareness. Zero.

I said offensively. I am fully aware that Amare is a revolving door. Many of my posts are directly related to wasting the amnesty while having that ridiculous contract is why this team is so bad. If u were going to pick a play to demonstrate, you should have used the play where Drummond faces him up and blows by him without even making a move. Looking purely at offensive end, he did have a solid game considering the Detroit defense was completely packed in.

james dolan and steve mills

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

That's 110% amare's fault. He's ball watching and you can even see him turn to his right really quick which leads me to believe he thought his man actually stayed at the 3pt line instead of cutting. The only way you can blame Tyson is for not immediately assuming amare was gonna f**k up his assignment and rotate sooner than he did.

Edit: melo even cuts off any chance of penetration and amare still doesn't decide to get back to his man until it's too late. However, chandler does have a sort of delayed reaction so ok kind of see your point.

Knicksfan: Hypocrite league that fines players after the game for flopping but in the game and with obvious flopping they call the fouls.

I'm convinced we have all these fabulous Tyson staring on D highlights because he knows there's no one coming in if he does foul out on lost causes like that play.

In any case, forget Tyson; somebody please tell me how long Amare has been in this league again? What the eff was he doing? Goggles fogged up or smeared?

Better yet, what does Woody say during tape sessions these days?

No way they have tape sessions, but all tyson has to do is to tell amare watch your man cutting. Good teams communicate on defense, there's just no way to keep your eye on the ball and your man every single time, the pace is to quick in the NBA. go to a miami game, or a bulls game, those guys are srceaming out rotations on damn near every play.

The knicks get killed on Pnr cause they dont say sht to each other until after the play, thats when all the yapping starts

You're a more forgiving man than me jrod. I think Tyson has pretty much checked out. Or it could just be frustrating having to compensate for the bad defense of the other 4 guys on the court.

Whatever scoring he does is just not worth his negative impact on the other end of the floor. He brings the whole team's defense down.
