one of the writers just brought up something that made me cringe. They said that these buyouts could mean the return of Charity Smith! I don't know if I can take seeing him on the bench again. I hope we try out people like that Brown kid.

Brown tried out 3 times already. He just needs to be signed and apologized to.

Smart. Bring in some young hungry guys from the d league. Jorge Gutierez played against the bayhawks last night. He isn't Steph Curry but he is a very good defensive player, has size, has always been called a tremendous leader and locker room guy and is given a lot of credit for Canton's success. His coach thinks he is an nba player. Maybe a character effort guy like that or go for a prospect like Curry etc. There are guys available. If you get a guy that turns out to have first round type talent that was missed or needed to be honed it is another young guy in the mix. Might be time to start resting some of the starters and throw in the towel. If not now in a week or so if things continue the way they have been.

No to Smith please. Watched him run the point for a 5 minute span in Tuesdays game. He didn't move the ball, threw up an air ball, made a three, had a turnover, and got trapped by the defense trying to take his own shot. It was an 8 point swing. The only time Chris passed in the sequence I watched was when he was trapped, almost got called for an up and down but then was able to throw a desperation pass. Maybe they bring up Leslie

Did we even try to move Metta at the deadline?

I think it is a goodwill move. I think if they could have been moved they would have. I also think it gives the Knicks a chance to pick up a couple of guys and see if they can find another young guy to develop.

Also, letting them go before 3/1 lets them sign with a playoff contender. Its the classiest thing the Knicks could do at this point. Beno to the Spurs, Metta to the Heat.

Metta taking shots on his way out:

Can't say I blame him, this organisation deserves it.

I'm more disappointed that Ron didn't get a chance. No knock but some players didn't play the mins deserved. I know Ron could've helped.

I agree. I was really excited about getting Ron. I thought Grunwald did a great job getting Beno and Ron. Not sure what happened. The classy thing to do is let these guys go somewhere where they can play and contribute in the spring.

Maybe, but again where does that leave us, and what kind of message are you sending to the fans. If there was a young good player out there that the knicks know of. But we have every indication that Mills is not the type of GM that finds hidden gems.

If felton, jr or THJ go down, your going to rely on Murry and priggs. With the luck the franchise has, both felton and priggs can get injured in a heart beat, then what..

This makes no sense, its like taking of your tires to change you break pads, with no pads to replace them.

If he signs Ivan Johnson, Bobby Brown, Seth Curry etc. then I get it. If he brings up Chris Smith then this was ridiculous.

Finally. I was talking about this exact thing yesterday. Even looks better -- I didn't think they had a chance to buy out MWP because of his player option for next year but great. Beno, Metta and even K-Mart -- outta here Jack. No disrespect and thanks for everything but there's no point in the world keeping any of these guys around anymore... I'd bring in the following: Seth Curry or Kalin Lucas; Devin Ebanks and C Justin Hamilton. 3 guys I'd love to see on this team. Tell ya what -- I'd bring in all 3 guys and lock them all up for 3 years w/o any of them even playing a game. It'd be like getting 3 draft picks. Don't even wait for them to play well and for the price to inflate. Take a calculated risk now -- everybody gets a contract equivalent to a low 1st round pick or less but locked up right through their 3rd year, right up to their early Bird or Bird rights. Why wait for them to blow up a little and then have some team with cap space come along and snatch 'em up (Fields, Copeland, Lin)? Take on the small risk -- if for some reason they're not as good as advertised, they could still be moved later on small, manageable contracts. Complete no-brainer. Maybe this is where we're headed. Let's hope.

Him and Metta are killing the knicks PR wise right now. I really hate that this is the team I am stuck being a fan of.

I believe there is a good chance the Knicks will use one if not both roster spots on a young prospect, maybe someone out of D-League.

Also, Herring saying Woodson helped recruit Beno.
