Ah young fella. Giants in recent history have become successful. Giants were the same way from the mid 60 up until the early 80's. The NFL forced George Young on the Giants. It wasn't the owners who made the team successful initially. George Stienbrenner couldn't win anything until he gave control of the team to his GM. Steinbrenner to is just like Dolan. They both went out the get the sexy FAs. They both have money but didn't make the right choices.

Briggs- we'll be lucky if Melo leaves and we get nothing back - because the likely alternative is that we retain him at an outrageous salary that handcuffs this organization worse than Allan Houston's deal ever did.

too many nyc teams make bad choices, and then use the "repeat it enough it must be true" style comments to mask it or hope it masks it.

as to bad knicks == bad for nba. nba doesnt seem to care too much, at least publicly. dont see the commish doing anything since that would require sticking it to an owner, of which he is employed by. that would make others in the frat possible targets.

Only time the NBA intervenes is when attendance goes down and that right there is the problem. Knicks are sold out and profitable even when they suck. They make more money when they win because they increase ticket prices when they do. If fans could find something else to do than go to a Knicks game then the NBA will intervene and give a gift.

That point is known. Dolan, have nothing to worry about in that department, but the rest of the league does. If the Knicks are good, simple logic implies that people in other cities would go watch their team play against the Knicks. Miami doesn't nearly as much money the Knicks make and they bring people out in droves to the games when they are visiting. Lebron, Knicks, Lakers and Lin are international money makers.

Agreed. The Knicks are a poorly run franchise. Dolan has the dough, but he's meddles to much. Masai (whatever his name is) owns Dolan by stealing our Picks. I hope this season is a lesson for him. Melo is going to be gone at the end of the season, and Dolan will have nothing to show for it.
