Which had me thinking... NBA players who have never had a losing season? Apropos to talent impacting record, this is Melo's 12th year in the NBA and he's never had a losing season in the first 11 years. How many guys were drafted and never had a losing season after 10 years?

Shaq, MJ, Hakeem had a .500 year but never a losing one in his first ten
Kobe had at least one losing season...
Stockton/Malone?
Gary Payton?
Has Dwight had a losing season?

UKers chime in... I think that would be a cool list

Wonder about Garnett? I think there are other factors like coaching, injuries etc.. I do believe we are capable of more this season. Teams play over their perceived talent level, no reason why we can't as well. Look at the Suns this season. We've have some talent on this squad as well as dysfunction. Hopefully we can lose some of the latter and get it together.

I think Garnett had some bad years in Minny in the later years...right?

Yeah, I think so, did he ever make it out of the first round in Minny? The only one I really thought should be held to not delivering was LeBron because of the whole "King James" thing. I know it was a marketing ploy, but he embraced it. He's the man now, even if he is also the King of all floppers.

good job on KG guys, but he misses the cut. His rookie season Sota was terrible, however next year they hired Flip and KG rattled off 9 winning seasons in a row. Pretty impressive.... but he's out

We hear a lot about Melo not being able to get out of the first round for years but look at what Garnett did as soon as he went to Boston.

Haha. I'm pretty sure they want to grow their own stars or they wouldn't be collecting draft picks like green stamps.

Dennis Rodman came pretty close. He played 14 seasons and had 2 losing seasons which was very close to 500 ball. Last year in Detroit has a 40-42 record also his last season with Dallas was 40-42. His other teams 50+ wins with a few 60+ wins and a 72 win season. Dude is weird but was a winner.

I disagree with TKF's premise. We are not playing up to the level of talent on the team. Not at all. But this is an interesting thread nonetheless.

Magic and Bird are the obvious one. Clyde was close. He had two years where the Blazers won 39 and 40 games, but they still made it to the playoffs. Pippen went 16 straight winning seasons. The only blemish is his final season, where he signed with chicago, but that shoudln't really count.
