Like every move or blatant lie this franchise delivers to it's fan base this one is a gem. Granted his salary would have been inflated, but Barngani cost the team more in luxury tax, losses and draft selections and slows the game down and makes things unwatchable. Feeling slighted, our overweight, small minded pathetic excuse of a man holds a vendetta over a kid accepting a contract while still giving Isiah the benefit of the doubt. It's a shame that this team has a built in cant lose policy with filling the building.

Watching the rockets play last night the kid is an elite penetrator is scoring at an efficient base and getting ride open shots for his teammates. Interestingly he would have fit perfect with hardaway, shumpert, Chandler, melo, Smith, Marin and Amare. All we have now is a bunch of pretend tough guys that lose their cool after they put forth no effort.

Leave it to the Knicks to let an asset go while willingly being the only squad in the league to give unprotected picks. It's only a matter of time before we package Hardaway to make up for not signing the point guard this team needed and our owner locking us into an eternal 5 seed.

I should've gave up on this team last year after the whole Lin fiasco but then we got off to the great start which evidently was because of the veteran presense guys like Kidd, Sheed, Kurt provided. Woodson just let them play. Now the teams is in the hands of low IQ guys like Woodson, Melo jr bargnani and you get 9-19

Never understood why people bashed Lin as if he was a finished product. You usually don't do that with a 23-24yr old rookies. People as in fans, media and the New York Knicks. We desperately needed Felton's veteran presense. How's that working out this year?

I wanted the Knicks to go hard after Kidd but to mentor Lin not Fat Felton

I didn't think the two moves had anything to do with each other unless Houston was trying to move Lin last offseason for a couple of second rounders and a compromised first rounder.

I do know that he wanted to get the best contract that he could, fired his agent and hired a high powered firm, sat out of usa select basketball because he didn't want to jeopardize his free agency, and that his new agent released statemets saying it wasn't a sure thing that he would resign with the Knicks. I don't have an issue with his trying to get the best deal that he could. However, the deal he signed had a third year that made it very difficult for the Knicks to match. It seems to be the reason his name is being brought up in trade rumors now. The Knicks choosing not to match his contract made sense because of the amount it would cost the team to keep him. I think the only thing to debate is was the decision to not match the poison pill deal a business decision or an emotional reaction by the owner.

If he wanted to play for the Knicks, he would have never signed the poison pill contract...I disagree it was an emotional reaction by the owner..Lin and Houston made it difficult to match his deal...He just wasn't worth it...

Is this thread about PG need or Lin? Lin left for the best contract given that he came out if the lockout in better shape and exploited people who were out of shape. He got his money. Good for him. Why would we trade for him though? Looking at Lin's skill set you can certainly get that for a lot less through FA or even a trade for a player with a better contract.

That's not even close to an accurate account of what happened. Stop being disingenuous about it. He expected and wanted to be back, they let him go because they thought Felton was a better fit somehow. That's the truth.

That really is the dumbest thing I've probably read on this board. He's not going to sign the ONLY contract he was offered? The Knicks could've offered an extension, never did. They could've offered an initial contract in his FA, never did. They told him to go and field a contract to get a measure of his market value, which he did. The Knicks made the choice and they made the wrong one clearly.

Lin is not a knick because Dolan wanted Nash. Maybe Woodson and Melo too. The Lin fiasco festered to the point where Lin was offered the poison pill and Dolan acted on his emotions. It wasn't about money
