Worst comprehension of game flow and cohesion

1. JR Smith - 17 three point shots when you are off is just too crazy for words

2. Carmelo Anthony - shooting over double teams is one thing, the silly-looking "three to the dome" gesture needs to stop, immediately

3. Andrea Bargnani - @YourManDevine: Clyde watches Melo iso-chuck over a double + miss. Clyde watches Chandler save the day + Andrea ruin it. [sotto voce] "untimely hooping"

4. I Man Shumpert - poor understanding of when to shoot and passing angles. With his athletic ability should see openings with more clarity and decisiveness.

5. Ray Felton - playing out of position because of size, needs to play less individual as point but cannot help himself, takes the game too personal

6. Amare Stoudemire - rarely coached up or simply too stubborn to listen?

7. What kinda name is Metta?

i love how JR chucks 17 3s and then Wally gives him credit in the post-game for hitting a clutch 3 down the stretch in closing min of regulation

Haha. I was thinking this may be the dumbest team I've ever seen. They don't really run anything unless you count giving Melo the ball with 7 on the shot clock and running for the hills as an actual play/set. Perhaps this explains why they run such garbage. Nobody can commit anything to memory. We may finally have our answer. I've literally never seen anything like that play by Bargs last night.

So basically our smartest players are Pablo and Tyson. Maybe Hardaway, but he might become mind poisoned by JR just as Shump looks like he's been.

Think about that. He attempted 17 there's. Totally avoiding what made his game sparkle last season - driving to the hoop. Knee surgery is a b#tch

I still can't get over Melo the other night against Washington. Where the hell does he get off saying, "He [Woodson] said that was his fault; he'll take the blame, then he'll take the blame." I mean he's gotta be kidding me. Man, is that weak...Look, blame Woody the most if you want for that circus conclusion the other night but the bottom line was he had faith in Melo to get the ball up court and get a decent enough shot off...And Melo failed here -- not only did he not get the ball up quick enough, he got a bad look. Woody trusted Melo there to a degree by letting the play go -- Melo fails him and then kinda blames him in the papers. That's not right at all and really showed me something about him.

I'd say Bargs ties it with JR.

Like we sometimes have, 'scrub of the night' in the game thread, we should really start having 'R*tard of the game'- Bargs ran away with it last night!

On par with Tyson- Tyson's a smart guy, who doesn't really get any credit for his bball intelligence.

Let him shoot his way out of a slump is not that stupid. Woodson could have told him to stop at any time.

If JR is "thinking" too much about his shot (digest that for a moment)then he is obviously not playing to his strength (an overstatement)which is to play instictively (just gets worse don't it?) and to his athletic prowess (limited by secret surgery).

This team is really very on edge and mistakes are bound to happen. The Brooklyn and Orlando games they were very loose and the outside shots were falling like crazy. They are very fragile and reliant too much on the outside difficult shot.

Melo: 9 for 29 last nite. ouch.

Out Of Control

"Lol 17 threes tho! Had to say damn my self!" Smith tweeted after taking 17 three-pointers against the Bucks.

He then added: "But trust me give me that chance again I'll shoot it again!"

The Smart Guys

1. Pablo Prigioni - 36 with a truck load of Euro Championships. We dig his humility.

2. Tyson Chandler - was looking forward to his new jumper. The ring counts for something.

3. Tim Hardaway Jr - pro pedigree and a quick study. He deserves half of JR's 17 three point attempts.

4. Toure Murry - he understands pace. Extra credit for playing tenacious defense.

5. Beno Udrih - unfortunately, smart cannot compensate for slow

6. Cole Aldrich - see Beno Udrih

Why is toure getting so much cred?

He has yet to produce. Is he ready for prime time? Woodson holding him back?

They Said It

MILWAUKEE — There comes a moment in every Knicks game when hilarity ambles over to the scorer’s table, draws a buzzer, shuffles onto the floor, and announces: “I got this.”

Not sure Chandler qualifies either. We are really remembering the 1 game. I olve his hustle and think his career warrants more respect from the officials, but regardless, he takes too many Technical Fouls. They are quick, but regardless he is taking them and they are not smart plays.
