3-20 is too crazy unproductive for words

At the half our guards had scored 2 points and had 9 rebounds. Total. That is not a decent stat line for one player, let alone four.

Screaming at Mike Woodson does not change the fact that he does not handle the basketball. He handles minutes. (Yes, The Answer Man wishes Toure Murry got some of those minutes.)

While Ray and JR are injured, Beno struggles with his pace and Shump struggles with his decision-making, we need our guards to see a therapist.

Woodson needs to go. A coaching change at least let's us see what we have in Toure Murry. Woodson is not even playing guys just to see if they can add something. He's ride or die with these vets...if he wants to die put him out of his misery.

EnySpree - if Woodson needs to go, they all need to go.

without Amare Stoudemire and Kenyon Martin, tonight, who does the rebounding?

3-20 is not simply a coaching change.

No its not simply a coaching change but you ask who will rebound? He has a healthy Cole Aldrich on the bench. Not a world beater but we need the body and he would rather burn then play the kid.

And yes we need a trade. That is obvious. we need more than just a guard. The locker room needs a culture change. I wish somebody would do something so I can watch a Game again. I can't handle the stress right now

Culture Changes (for EnySpree)

- Unlimited media access, outside of closed practices

- One person in charge of player personnel, his decision is final

- Cut the fancy player introductions and burn the orange unis on Seventh Avenue in a public ceremony hosted by Lady Gaga

- Move celebrity row to the sky bridge. Cut ticket prices in half

- If you are not 100% healthy you go on the injured list. Cut the platoon bs.

- You suck. you sit. That includes all five starters three minutes into any given game.

- Bring back the white warmup jackets from the seventies

- you show up ready for noon starts at 8AM. No exceptions.

- Hit the open man

Prig is playing the best amongst our guards and that isn't saying much.

Misterearl why do you always insist Woody isn't at all to blame? Our guards/team definitely blow however that doesn't mean Woody isn't also a terrible coach. Because he is.

To summarize both statements are indubitably true:

1) This team blows
2) Woody is a terrible coach

Also, I highly suspect JR Smith has compromising photos of Woodson. How does he get a minute of playing time at this point? He's putrid!

If There's A Hell Below, The Answer Man Sez They All Gotta Go

Q. H1and1 - why do you always insist Woody isn't at all to blame?

A. Of course Mike Woodson is to blame, except he didnt pick the groceries, nor does he determine the direction of the franchise direction from the big chair in the big office. Woodson does not dribble, rebound or shoot. he controls minutes. kinda like the way Doc Rivers did when he sucked and controlled minutes before KG and Ray Allen arrived. If his backcourt sucked on defense and shot a combined 3-20, Red Auerbach would lose.

Free Toure and Cole Mike!

Q. EnySpree - are you this awesome in person?

A. Win or lose, The Answer Man is never as awesome as Michael Ray Richardson in the open court.

Our GM is now, even more so than ever before, James Dolan.

That I agree with: Woodson, the team, AND most importantly Dolan and his army of lickspittle Yes Men.

Btw, didn't Doc River win Coach of the Year with an Orlando squad that was supposedly lottery bound? Comparing Woodson to Rivers is not even remotely fair. Woodson isn't even in the same stratosphere even if Doc's Celtics weren't world beaters before Garnett et al.

H1And1 - news flash

Cablevisions and the Dolan family are not going anywhere. Therein lies the major problem.

Cablevision can afford the Knicks from its petty cash envelope and another younger Dolan is being groomed.

Mike Woodson is the LEAST of the Knicks issues. It starts at the too with putting ONE person in charge of the basketball operation and allowing him to do his job.

any franchise being run by committee will always bite its tail

I have to blame the coach more when the team has had leads and fails to close out games. We almost lost the Bulls game!!! IMO the shots aren't falling due to the horrid flow and spacing out there. You can't compare how the team is playing this year to last year when they were hitting shots. This year they aren't really using the same sets as much. There are too many plays where they are motionless for 8-10 seconds before they even get into the play and then it looks so sloppy.

This team came out of camp unprepared and even Woody said he didn't know who the team was. He had most of his core team returning and he was LOST? If you're a well prepared team you don't look that lost on every possession. All of that leads to poor confidence, poor rhythm and technique on your shot. When you execute properly you have shooter who are confident and in rhythm on their shots. If we were playing the same scheme as last year and losing then I'd be more inclined to just blame the players, but that hasn't been the case. All you have to do is just watch a game from last year and notice the sets they used and then compare to this year and you'd see it clear as day.

Woody is a fine coach who has had to deal with a team that has no guards and inconsistency via play and injury. Could we be 3 games better. Maybe but anyone who at this pint thinks this is a good team doesn't know bbal

Money

H1and1 - it's awesome that the Knicks ownership have more money than The Royal Family, but it would be outstanding if they trusted someone with some basketball sensibility and expertise in draft Scientology...

I nominate BRIGGS for Knicks Director of player personnel.

Briggs: I have no illusions about this team. They suck. I just think Woody is also inept. Would firing him change anything? Probably not.

Misterearl: Yes, the Dolans aren't going anywhere. I know this, and it's depressing.

This team makes little to no adjustments. The blame goes all around but woodson's time is up. They won't run his defense and his offense is simply too predictable. Will we get anyone better? Probably not, but they at least could use a shakeup.
