Awesome. One bad move taken off the table for us. Was it a straight salary dump?

yeah, but there are still a crap load of bad salary busts out there lol I would mind getting Vasquez. He's solid and offers a nice change of pace for the Raps. Any rumors of the Raps making more moves?

Rudy Gay like Granger has not lived up to their deals but they are still young and still have high potential

although Granger's injury is more recent and more serious

Rudy Gay once had All STAR potential in him is similar to the high prospect of Wiggons who some have once labelled as the "next Lebron"
Before Gay got hurt and when Zbo got hurt, he was a complete stud, however, he hasn't been the same player since

BB IQ, Work ethic, maturity, with the RIGHT TEAM/DEVELOPMENT coaches/system is probably the biggest difference between Paul George and Rudy Gay
With the leadership and defensive presence of high character players like Hibbert/David West, George Hill, and Granger even helping him develop and Lance STephenson is another player that benefitted from it

it is the reason why Donnie Walsh values character over talent/potential
Some times, it works out, sometimes it doesn't, but we cannot predict how a players talents will develop and how injuries would affect them either

rudy + acy + gray

for

hayws + patterson + salmons + vasquez

rudy has a $19 mil opt-in next year.
salmons only has $1 mil guaranteed next season.
passquez + patterson are RFA's.
hayes is guaranteed $5.8 mil next year.

everyone is eligible to be retraded about 11 days before the trade deadline...

Any chance that the Raps are looking to unload Lowry?

LMAO at me suggesting we get Gay for scraps and that is what Gay gets traded for.

Rudy isnt opting out. Maybe he can perform well next year and get paid like Igoudala.

Im pretty sure the guys being received by Toronto can be traded immediately as long as they arent packaged together.

We should look into the availability of Greg Monroe from the Pistons. Josh Smith is playing out of position at SF but they have committed a lot of money to him. Drummond is coming along nicely though at the center spot. Don't know if we have anything that would interest them though, but they need spacing for that front court badly.

Doubtful. He's all the bad things that people hype Melo as being. I can't stand Gay's play but suppose he can't be any worse than JR Smith as a bench player. I do think that some team will be dumb enough to give up assets for him, if he puts a few string of games together, so why not trade for him? It's not like this team is going anywhere.

SOLD! I doubt the Raptors do it though. Masai is a smart dude and puts an emphasis on getting/developing young players.

Rudy Gay's trade value is currently negative. Toronto gave him away for expirings and young players.

Knicks have bad contract to trade. Please see Novak's contract as exhibit A

I'd include someone's first born in a trade for Greg Monroe, lol. I think he'd compliment Melo very well. Unfortunately, we have no one that the Pistons would want for him.

lowry will be the next one moved.

salmons is going to be a very attractive trade chip at the deadline since he is only guaranteed 1 mil next year...

Even so, Novak's deal had only 1 extra year on it so the Raptors did save a ton of money in the short term. We shouldn't have included any picks for Bargnani.

Vasquez is 27 and is a RFA this summer. I doubt he is part of their future. Masai wanted to dump Gay by any means necessary.

I dont see Vasquez as being a long term starter but he'd be valuable for us since Felton sucks.

Does Lowry still look good? I've liked his games but his numbers have been terrible since the 2nd half of last year.

Vasquez doesn't have to be a starter but will serve the role for a tanking team...but will help with Jonas development since Lowry can't run pick and roll. he can also be a quality backup.
