- I'm torn on whether or not I want to re-sign Melo, but an awful season will at least put the front office and the delusional members of our fanbase on notice that THE NEW YORK KNICKS WILL NEVER WIN A CHAMPIONSHIP WITH CARMELO ANTHONY AS THEIR BEST PLAYER.
I would be 100% behind going into full rebuilding mode and letting go of Melo, but thanks to our awful front office that's not a possibility since we've traded away so many 1st rounders already. The best thing that could happen right now is for us to continue to be the laughing stock of the NBA for the rest of the season so the front office realizes they need to make as many changes as possible and do what's needed to bring in a true superstar next to Melo.
full rebuild mode.. trade the most valauable pieces you have now and try to get some picks back.. that would be a start..
Who do they have to trade? I'm 100% with you but no one on our team has value.
Felton is a mediocre at best PG. He's not a starter on almost every team in the league.
Bargnani is one of those players who is absolutely untradable unless the Knicks are interested.
J.R. is on a good contract, but no one was interested in him this offseason.
You'd have to give up picks to move Amar'e, not the other way around.
Our only piece is Shumpert and he's not as coveted as some Knick fans think.
