Just to share, a vido of Franck in college.

http://home.comcast.net/~j.livengood/hrf_ufi-1.wmv

The more I see him play, the more I think we have to keep him. Can play d, has balls. I would be glad to have a chance to watch him grow as a knick.

great film!
i always liked frankie and he had a very good playoff.
if he were more on the floor we would see much more from him.
i think he could become our bobey jackson like , a scoring, passing, defending point guard of the bench.

Good video....

Frank's confidence has got to be sky high right now because he proved to himself he can compete with the likes of Kidd and Jefferson in big games.

Frank's little altercation with Jefferson was possibly the best play of the series because Jefferson called himself screaming on Frank and Frank was gonna make him shut the "f" up.

Frank Williams is officially a Knick.

I think during this playoff series we got a glimpse as to why ISiah didnt trade him for Darius Miles

Weren't Cleveland the ones that rejected his offer? Anyway, you all know how I feel about Frankie. He is THE reason why I still firmly believe the Marbury deal was a mistake. Imagine, if we had traded all that for Rasheed Wallace. [drool] But what is done is done and now I think Frankie's trade value really increased. He will probably be traded in the offseason for both the team's good, and his own good. He isn't going to get anywhere playing garbage minutes behind Marbury. We're better off trading him.

I totally disagree... since both Marbury and Frank are good offensive players and both can guard bigger players why cant they play together?
Why cant Frank get 25-30 minutes off the bench at the 1 and 2? Why cant Marbury play the 2? Why cant Frank play a Bobby Jackson type role?

Maybe we do trade him but Frank was maybe the only one that showed some real toughness on this team... I find it hard to believe Isiah is looking to deal that away at his first opportunity.

Andrew and I were talking about this offline. Anyone else think IThomas sees flashbacks of a 3-guard lineup as he had with Detroit? Marb is a scoring PG and could easily slide to the 2 with FWill playing PG. Things looks good at the guard position. Must find bigs now.

he may have no choice. He is one of the few trading chips we have that other teams may want. Who else do we have that other teams would trade for?

definitly. Think how you can tweak your team using that kind of combination like better handling (Fwill & marb) Vs better shooting (marb and Fwill).

I'm pretty sure we're not so far from his plan, ohterwise darius miles would be here. We needed athletism, but IT didn't trade franck to get it. Remember that at that time, Franck didn't play at all and was deep in a black hole (death of his mother, no PT...). So he had major reasons to tarde, yet he didn't.

Now, seeing what we saw in terms of play as well as guts, this guy may be a knick for good. Strong, doesn't back up agasint anybody (jefferson, kidd). We definitly need that kind of attitude.

He may have no choice if if wants to strike for a major overhaul next season.

The way I see things is the following : patience.

Step 1 : getting back to the playoffs. We're in (in fact now we're out, but...)
Step 2 : getting things together, bringing back houston, trading the rotten wood (anderson) and the expiring contracts (trybansky, harrington, deke), create a team atmosphere and restore credibility. Btw, use the midlev to attract a soon-to-be-but-no-yet young promising star (for this purpose, call briggs (1-800 IAM-A-GM))
Step 3 : things get serious, and since we did more damages in the season and in the playoffs as well, maybe can we lure some free agents at bargain price (the place where you want to play, you know that song...). Other expiring contracts (penny for instance) can help us bring in big guys.

In the meantime, draft carefully, talent over needs, as usual.

But, see the future as a 2-3 yrs span, not just next season.
We said that we were ready to start from scratch, so we must be ready to wait 2 yrs, mustn't we ?

I guess I'm the only one not worried about Houston's fate or his impact. If he returns to all star form awesome, if not I would like very much to see a FW/Marbury backcourt with TT at the 3 and Penny off the bench. Plus you have Dermaar in the wings when we send Anderson to Siberia. I cant see any choice but to eat his remaining $21 mill.

If we can get some athleticism in the front court OR an a definsive 5 we are in good shape moving forward. This is a growing process...

Frank Williams was nice back in college, I would like to see more of that from him in the NBA, that behind the back pass was pure sickness.

I'd hate to see him go but like someone mentioned he is now one of our biggest trading pawns. Whoever deals with Isiah is gonna ask about Frank Williams.

Isiah doesn't even have to go that route. He could just cut the team loose of players the Knicks don't need and try to sign Stromile or someone like that.

There were plays where KT would get the ball in a certain position and would be stuck. Stromile in the same situation would be tomahawking the ball through the hoop.

Frank and Sweetney unfortunately. I just hope they don't trade them along with Deke for the Juwan Howards' of the world. You know the overpaid veteran type.
