I've loved the Knicks since I was a kid. They were terrible when I started watching them and I watched them run to the MJ buzzsaw. I faithfully watched a decade of ball when I tuned in just to see how much we would lose by. I knew we didn't have a chance but I watched anyway.

I stayed away from this forum for quite a while, especially after our pre-season. After all it was pre-season and once the season started those BS ESPN 37 win articles would be meaningless.

Now we're 3-9!!! Yes, I know we have a lot of season left but I my blinders are off. In my heart I know this team does not have a chance at winning it all and I can't take it anymore. I love the game. I've played the game! I can't do it to myself anymore.

I'm a Giants fan. They put up crap seasons but my loyalty has been rewarded. When everyone said we had no shot we won it all. I've enjoyed 4 championships thanks to the boys in blue. When I was a kid the Yankees were crap. I went to the stadium, watched them lose year after year and always had hope that they could win it all one day. They did! I've seen 5 trophies held up high!!!! The Knicks.... I've seen them come close but no cigar. 2 finals losses and nothing has come close to the excitement of those years other than a stretch of Linsanity games.

I wish it were as easy as choosing another team and enjoying the winning but it's not that easy. I've bled blue and orange for over 2 decades and I would be lying to myself if I chose to jump ship to a team that was on the right path. I can't take the stupid moves and the product I see on the court. I told a friend at work that if the Knicks traded Shumpert that it would be the end for me. Shump may be traded than again he may not. Either way I think I'm DONE!!

Sports is supposed to be enjoyable. Being a Knicks fan borders on sadomasochism. I love them but I don't think I can do it any longer. Makes me think back to my GF in college. I knew she was no good but I thought if I hung in there things would change. She promised that she would change because she loved me. She didn't change and she didn't love me. The Knicks won't change and they don't love me so what's the difference?

Its hard to stay away from something or someone you love but than again I think I'm DONE!

Not done but this was really a tough loss. I am confounded with shump and his mistakes. I don't like the policy of trading young guys and losing out but man Shump is making it hard not to see him being moved. 8 and 4 as a starter at 30 minutes a game with good d but some really bad mistakes nightly is hard to take. This was a really bad loss. The game was over.

Yeah man. Haven't felt this bad in a long time about a regular season game. The game was over. Pretty frustrated with everything Shump so far this season.

Done? Dam you must be young. You know how many wins we had AFTER we drafted Patrick ewing #1--well his first two years we had 7 more wins last year.

Yes it sucks being a Mets Jets Knicks Rangers fan --certainly we know heartbreak and losing much more than winning--but after 44 years--you get used to it. I DO NOT like that one man is making too many decisions that are above his head --and for that reason I gave up season tix in 2003 I believe and Ive only gone to a couple of games since(I did buy a block of tix once for the guys here) but other than that--Im not giving them that money--Ill watch and post and follow possibly pray but Im not giving that dud e my money.

Mets 86 baby made a deal with the devil for that one. Best Playoffs and World Series of all time. Their owner is just as A$$ you know he made money with Madoff and he is trying to show losses.

To each his own. Been a die hard Knick fan since the very early 80's. Back when Truck Robinson, Pat Cummings and Rory Sparrow were getting their absolute heads handed to them on a nightly basis. Add to that I'm also a J-E-T-S, fan. Maybe I love being miserable, but I'm not giving up on my teams....

I was around during the Ewing era....Thats when I started watching them hard.

But after going through years of nothing after Ewing, you can't just quit on them now.

To be honest, if I still lived in NY or continued to live in NY my entire life, then I would've been done.

Living outside of NY, being a knicks fan is one way for me to feel connected to my home city.

I think I will start following more college ball now...Getting tired all these millionaires just out to get a pay check. Real basketball and professional sports in general is slowing going down.

But if I know my knicks...They will do something to bring me back like make a trade for somebody that help short term, but hurt long term. At least they keep me entertained.

Born in Brooklyn, Raised in Queens, Lives in Maryland. The future is bright, I'm a Knicks fan for life!

This thread and another started this evening 'Dolan is the owner, why are you a fan' are of interest to me as I'm able to draw a parallel with my great love back home in Scotland, Heart of Midlothian Football Club. Most if not all of you will probably never have heard of them but they are one of the oldest football (soccer) clubs in the UK, formed in 1874 and are dearly loved by many people in Edinburgh, Scotland's capital.

The reason I bring this story to this thread is because between 1962 and 1998 Hearts won nothing, nada, zilch, 36 years of pain. Not one trophy. My fathers generation bore the worst of the heartache but being a child of the 70's I started watching in the early 80's so saw years of near misses and devastating kicks in the teeth. We got close many times, actually within 7 minutes of winning the Scottish League at one point and losing a handful of cup finals.

Therefore I can totally empathize with those who are at breaking point after seasons of underachievement, false dawns, downright bad ownership and management decisions and the feeling that we just aren't close. I urge all caution against walking away though - you will regret it !! When Hearts eventually beat Glasgow Rangers 2-1 to win the 1998 Scottish Cup it was the greatest day the club and all those who had witnessed the pain and defeats could have imagined (whisper it in these parts I know but similar to the Bosox in 04). The sheer sense of victory and relief made it an unforgettable and phenomenal experience and the same will be true when the Knicks eventually get I right. It lifted an enormous weight off the clubs shoulders and since then we repeated it in 2006 and 2012.

It will happen for the Knicks. Stick by them. The reward is worth it.

Can't fault anyone for jumping ship on this franchise (well, maybe the ones who hang around like a bitter ex afterwards). I'm finding it much easier to miss a game here and there vs. years past, but I can't quit them just yet. Still have hope this group will click.

My wife was born in Dunbarton. Her family immigrated here when she was 5. They are all big Glasgow Celtic fans. Best story I have is my wife's cousin came to visit and had green Ewing sneakers. He said he got them because they were Celtic colors and thought they were for JR Ewing. He knew nothing about Patrick Ewing but stayed at my place for 2 weeks in 93 and left a Knick fan.

The Knicks kind of do that to you, suck you in !! I'm use to the disappointments !!

It was Glasgow Celtic who beat us to the League in those final 7 minutes though we did actually win the cup at their stadium in 1998.

It was Glasgow Celtic who beat us o the League in those final 7 minutes though we did actually win the cup at their stadium in 1998.

I never saw anything like those sneakers. I had Ewings myself except they were gray suede. Ewings were not sold in Celtic colors in the US that I am aware of.

Maybe I love being miserable, but I'm not giving up on my teams....

Young.....matter of perspective. Mets, Jets, Knicks, Rangers, I'm Giants, Yankees, Knicks, Rangers. Than again I claim the Rangers but could care less about hockey. I'm about the big 3.....(pun intended) KNICKS, YANKS, GMEN!

I may be just talking crap as I LOVE the Knicks as I will probably continue to watch but I'm starting to get that "Don't NEED to watch feeling."

Funny thing is that I LOVE B-BALL more than any other sport but this team is getting under my skin.

GMEN started 0-6 and although pissed I knew that they could make a run. Now we're 4-6 with a Do or Die game coming up. Knicks 3-9 and I believe the season is over. Would rather it be than to feel false hope. Championship teams don't play this way. The Knicks.........I guess I'm ok with the text that says we lost by 10...AGAIN.

Just too early for me to check out on the season. Not that I ever really do anyway. Things can change over the long course of a season. Most thought this would be a blow out tonight and look how close it was to a win. You just never know.
