Personally i think Griffin is extremely overrated. In regards to melo its probably accurate. His scoring ability is as good as anybody. However the other aspects oh his game are flawed compared to the others and his playoff record also has to eb taken into account

ESPN rankings must be based on TV ratings as much as overall hooping.

He was ranked 9th at the end of season ratings or whatever. Not sure why he dipped. George, Love, and Griffin should not be ranked ahead yet. You don't get the sense that those players can lead a team to the playoffs each year the way Melo does. But then again, with Wade and Kobe ranked so low, i don't feel these are that accurate anyways.

Wel to be fair kevin Love has pretty much nobody. Rubio is a nice player but he was hurt a lot and not a star pg. George did a pretty darn good job last year nearly upsetting the heat without danny granger

I don't care what ESPN says, there's no way you put Melo 15th. He's not perfect but he's a top 10 player in my book. The ESPN ranking was supposed to be forward looking and in that case I actually think this is going to be a strong year for Melo. I think he has better support this year than last which I don't think many in the media actually believe is true.

True but George has West and Hibbert, both all-star caliber big men. Also, Love needs to prove he can push a team to the playoffs, or at least close to that to be considered a top-10 player. Kobe, Wade, and a couple other both took hits in the ratings with the injuries, as did Tyson Chandler, but Love did not for some reason. I guess they figured age is a factor.

15th would put you middle of the pack, right (as would 37 wins)? 14 teams would have better #1s.
Regardless, it's not the same person writing the two articles in reference. There is no "ESPN person." There are just a bunch of writers with different views who publish for ESPN.

CBS sports also ranked Love higher, which is madness- he was awful last season and hasn't even made the playoffs.

For real. I don't understand the love he gets sometimes.
Knicksfan: Hypocrite league that fines players after the game for flopping but in the game and with obvious flopping they call the fouls.

typical espn hate......how can a player who leads the league in scoring and third in mvp voting be only 15? I am hard pressed to think of five players better than him.

No that is matters to me at all but george is a two player, and stats favor that and analysts as well, plus he was on the team that beat ours.

I like Blake, no i dont think he's better than Melo, but he does things I like.

He can score rebound and pass, if Doc makes him into a defender....then yeah he's better.

People lump on Melo because of his defensive rep..He actually played decent defense last year..He torched George as well...George also has great help from his front line..As far as classifying a player defensive abilites, I'm just not sure about that..Simply because u have to play defense in the scheme of the team..Lots of guys gamble and have great steals but hurt the team on their gamble percentage..The average fan don't see that..ESPN geeks have no clue what sort of defensive schemes teams run to be able to tell if a player is doing well or not...

U can't tell me Blake Griffin is better when he has to be pulled from important games because he is a liability in crunch time...How is that possible??
