"(I hate the Knicks) with a passion," Pierce told Complex Magazine. "Let's start it up right now. Let's start the beef. It's no secret that me and New York got history. It's no secret."

So while most other players, including Carmelo Anthony, are talking up a respectful, competitive rivalry, Pierce is pushing animosity. He also reiterated his plan is to lead a Brooklyn revolution, understanding he's entering Knick territory.

"It's going to be what it was (a rivalry), but now on steroids," Pierce told Life and Times Magazine. "This is a city battle. We're going to divide the city now. Before this was a Knicks town, but now that I'm here we're going to call it, 'Nets Village.

First of all you idiot, your not by any stretch a championship team, maybe if this was 2010..your old, your shot is garbage..you shot an embarrassing 36%fg for the playoffs including 29% from 3pt..

deron and JJ the so called leaders on the nets last season got bullied by the bulls who were missing rose, kirk, deng, and a hobbled noah..neither of them have had any success in the playoffs, deron is a sometimes guy, and jj shot 4 for 20 something in a game 7...

KG is a injury away from retiring, your back up pg, livingston who shot 20% from 3pt and tyshawn taylor(who the hell is that) your bench is trash other then AK..

while i never like KIDD (except for 2 months last season) he is a rookie coach who only got the job because of his relationship with D will, and the idiot owner whose hell bent on doing everything he can to dethrone the knicks..

You never had love for NY and now your talking like your a native(dumb ass bklyn is ny).

IF there was ever a case of "DONT BELIEVE THE HYPE" this is it smack dead in your face, just a step ahead of the LAKERS last season...you barely made the playoffs last season, started off well below .500 with rondo, and the nets were a mess for half the season cause JJ and D will have absolutely no chemistry..

So keep Believing ESPN and Barkley who change there tune quicker then a fck up DJ, we will rise to the occasion..You have had some killer games against us in the past, but wake the up fool, your no where close to what you were. For all you did for the city of Boston you were bounce out without a request for a trade, you were suppose to retire a celtic like Bird, mchale, parish..they knew you were done and we know your done.. CAN WAIT!!!!

Because he such a idiot, why does even hate us, he's had the better team for years. Snce the ewing era to now, we never really had a rivalry. I never heard Reggie, MJ, Mourning and Tim ever say they hated the knicks and we had more battles with them..

Now your in bklyn and your talking sht, prior to the Nets coming to Brooklyn doesn't he know most of those are Knick fans crossing over. Our roster has flipped 20x since he's been with boston, so you can't have beef with any individual player, which means he's directing his hate towards the FANs

Oh I can understand why a Knicks fan would get upset by something PP said. This guy has rubbed it in our face on our floor in the past and I hated it!!! It's the worst feeling to have to sit there and watch that. It was similar with Reggie Miller. I can totally understand why fans would be upset. I also think it's gonna make the series even tougher this year. The East has always had really tough and nasty rivalries. This year will continue the fight between the Knicks and the other top Eastern teams. I can't wait for the season to get here.

I think the plan was to bring villains to Brooklyn to maximize publicity and profit. I wouldn't be surprised if Pierce is asked to say some of these things.

I'm looking forward to seeing the gamble backfire. It's a long season, and there's a lot of mileage on those guys.

NBA is not like back then, not about pure competition, it is more of entertainment like WWE, and as an entertainer, Paul Pierce is creating the drama that fans/haters want to see for publicity and rivalry

He hates you, not NY. He don't like the knicks. "Us" insinuates your a knick. OK, Im being hard on you and I do get your distain for pierce. I have "Hated" him and KG in the past but i'll share my evolution:

Im a Knicks fan and year in and year out for some time we dont' win championships nor grow our own stars. So I have learned to respect the greatness of others and choose to watch playoff games that have "Good theatre" to them. While KG is nuts, as he aged I come to respect his being prepared year in and year out and if he is a jerk, he keeps it on the court. There are lots of jerks on the court, he is just more successful!

IN this era of free agents we have seen knick villians like KMart, Melo, Sheed, Kidd come to the knicks and are welcome with open arms. This took a bit of adjustment. Melo is not my "Favorite" like many others but he has done a lot to win me over in time.

Im done hating on others.

Im old school knick fans. The celtics messed us up over decades more than the reign of terror that was michael and the bulls. Four leaf clovers make me sick.

This is the problem with the NBA players aren't allowed to hate any team. Who cares what Pierce did in the past so what if he had the Knicks number in the past. Guys need to move on. A player can talk all he wants that's great now he has to back it up. Makes for good drama that's one of the reason we follow sports for the drama. We are Knicks fans we certainly not in it for the championships so it got to be the drama.

Pierce is that combination of a good, clutch player and an @sshole on the court. If he isn't on your team you hate him. I can't stand the guy and can't wait for the Knicks to beat him. Glad the Knicks have Shump and Metta to throw at him. Hate his fake injury drama every game as well.

Why doesn't he shut up? If he stayed with his team, the Celtics, they'd still be a borderline playoff team while the Knicks are a legit contender. You really shouldn't run your mouth when you're the fourth or fifth best player on your team and on the way down.

And this will never be a Nets town.

This is exaclty my point, wtf..he always had hate for ny fans, but know he's talking like he's in a different state. It is good for drama, but he's the last fool that should be talking, I respected his skills like I do all hard working players, but why not first connect with the Fans.

Nalod I agree with most of what you said, but why is it that players who join the NETS have this hate..I don't see any real rivalry in any of the other NY sports teams, especially Owners taking shots at other Owners..When I think about it sometimes, its kind of hilarious...The owner is a step up( in the stupidity dept) from Kahn. Not only does he approve suspect trades and signings, he takes way to many shots at Dolan in the press, It's like he's begging for attention..

It's all part of the fun- it would be a bit boring if there weren't any teams or players that riled you.

Is ok to be a Brooklyn fan but this poser is taking it over board. Nyc is all 5 boroughs..... Brooklyn is not isolated. Brooklyn is not taking a backseat. He should not be talking that **** and net fans shouldn't let him get away with it. Shut up and play and don't talk about stuff you have no clue about.
