Richard Jefferson of the Nets briefly stepped onto the court during the altercation, but the NBA reviewed the videotape and decided Jefferson's actions didn't merit a suspension under the so-called leaving the bench rule.

Whether we come out with heart, desire, and most importantly a sound gameplan, will say a lot about this team not only for this year, but the foreseeable future. At this point it doesn't even have to be a win...just show us something!

I just don't see this team winning tonight - especially without TT.

I wouldn't suspend RJ for that. I would suspend him for being a classless, ****y, arrogant, big-mouthed punk!

I'm really pissed that Tim Thomas isn't playing because of Jason "Klutz" Stiffins

man, leave to go on vacation in florida and all hell breaks loose. i will tell you this and you can quote me. this will not be a sweep. i do agree that the nets are better and the knicks will lose. i said that two weeks ago when over enthusiastic fans were saying we will beat the nets. i don't think it is mere athleticism that beats us but it is the chemistry of that team. the core players on that team have been together for a full three years and made it to the eastern conference finals in two. you think a banged up team with 22 different players in one year will beat a team like that? i mean they are athletic but marbury is a good enough point guard that could control the tempo in any situation ( see '03 playoffs against the spurs). other players must have court awareness and know where they have to be. i still see a lot of confusion in defensive and offensive sets. you are not going to beat the nets that way. the next game won't be a blowout but they need to be aware and sharp especially when they face the princeton offense executed with perfection.

If I see another dunk I'm shutting the game of. They better faul hard and faul a lot, knock anybody who goes to the basket on the a@ss. W/out TT it is a sweep.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

I think the next game will be a lot closer. Don't know if the Knicks win but it will be closer. Now thats not saying much because if the kNicks lose by 23 that would be closer than the last game. I think it will be a dog fight.

does it really matter what night we play? Without Houston, TT, and a real coach we are riding a directionless ship.

It's time for Marbury to step up. Hopefully he has his perimeter game tomorrow.

I also think it will be a close game tomorrow. Wouldn't be surprised to see the Knicks steal the game. I think Penny is gonna come up big tomorrow. I also think Marbury will take over the game tomorrow. I'm not gonna say the Knicks are done yet. If we can somehow pull out a win tomorrow night and have Tim healthy by game 3 I think we can still win this series.

you are right that the nets are more athletic and will win.you are wrong to think that it is some chemistry thing. they are flat out better. the knicks have been playing together long enough, not too mention they are supposed to be professionals. bottem line is knicks current team is trash. k thomas, frank williams, mutumbo, shandon anderson should already be gone (though getting someone to take shandumb mightve been a tough sell).

if we get camby and wallace next year, and possibly a decent center, and a healthy houston, with TT off the bench, THEN we will have a team.

I think the lack of life NY is showing is 'a chemistry thing'. How can you say that NJ is just better when NY is playing wihtout Houston? NY is not even competing. We are watching a shell of what this team can be. Houston, arguably the best spot shooter in the game, spreads the floor to allow Marbury to penetrate. Even KVH allowed Marbury to play better. You might argue about the Defense, as well you should. But I say Defense goes hand in hand with a strong frame of mind. Dunk afer uncontested dunk and NJ hacks TT who attempts just one? Why do you think that is?

...and Professionals? Yes, they are. Professionals like Cassel in his first playoff game on a new team scored 40. But, Cassel entered a team knowing what his role was going to be at the beginning of the season. You cannot deny that if this team was together all year they would be playing much better under pressure.

Here's my point:
we are seeing NJ at its finest... and NY at its worst. Isiah has made a team of potentials. I'll be the first to admit NY has a good chance of being swept.

But until we see NY play at its best against this NJ at its best, we cannot see who is just flat out better.

If TT can't play and H20 can't play....I'll wait till the series resumes at the Garden. I'm waiting for H20 to make a Reed-like appearance to secure our first win

From your mouth to God's ears man!
If Houston makes a debut in the Garden playoff debut... then goes on to score 20+... win or lose.. I will have a new found respect for the man.

Quote me: KNICKS will WIN tonight and pull away in the fouth quarter and will tie the series at 1-1. Tim Thomas will not play, but I think the Knicks will pull out a gutsy road win. If not, then they are in deep ****. But hey, they'd be returning home, and theres NO PLACE LIKE HOME, especially in the Playoffs, but we NEED this win tonight.
