Knicks Interested In Hamed Haddadi
Jul 31, 2013 9:02 PM EDT

The New York Knicks have expressed interest in Hamed Haddadi.

Hadaddi played several seasons with the Memphis Grizzlies before being traded to the Toronto Raptors and then to the Phoenix Suns.

I say for the minimum he is not a bad signing. Much much better player than Jerome Jordan or Henry Sims.
He is a legit 7"2 player and has some offensive skills together with solid shot blocking, something the knicks were bad at last year.

His per 36 minutes stats are: 11.6/12.7 and 3.1 blocks per game

I love that stat. Don't know much about this guy but, if he's not a total stiff and can bring that post defense to New York, I'm all for it. We need guys that can cover for our guards when they get beat off the dribble.

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

Dont get impressed by those numbers...its only based on 5mins a game. This guy is a scrub. Theres a reason why he has bounced aroind so much. Lol
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

He is nothing but a stiff. Advance stats are not good for some players. Some of those stats had Novak being the best defender on the team last year. We all know that could not be farther from the truth.

I posted a video of him from a game against the rockets in the free agent thread. He looks really good. I agree that he would be a better signing then Jordan or Simms.

oh, so this is from someone taking the 5minute sample and trying to project what it would for a full game. If so, I HATE IT when people do that. Longer minutes are just as likely to expose his weaknesses.

He averaged 4 pts, 5 Rebs, and 1.2 block per 14 minutes last year in the 17 games he played for the suns

He is really good against penetrating guards. He was very good against the rockets last year. Harden and Lin had a hard time penetrating. He should be able to neutralize the heat in spurts.

I saw that. I didn't know who he was and they had the Rockets game highlights on youtube.

Well he definitely gets in the way down there. I also like how quickly he finds the PG after a rb.

Anyone think signing him or another big would spell the end of Tyler? Really don't think Tyler is ready to be in a rotation, but I hope he's not cut loose for someone to scoop up.

I was wondering about Tyler also. I think the Knicks would like to go into camp with another point guard and another big and hopefully one open roster spot. I think Tyler probably gets that unless they like Murry more.

This guy would help tremendously. Forget the numbers. He is as immovable as Pekovic

It would make sense to add a player of Hiddadi's defensive abilities and size with the size now in the East
I hate to bring thing is up because some poster's are very sensitive and opinionated about this I this, but we have to play as a TEAM
That was how we played when Lin had his great run as a NYK and that was part of the reason why many of us wanted him to stay here
This was for both OFFENSE and DEFENSE, and it was started with unselfishness and TEAM play, with ball movement/EVERYONE touching the ball, and that was why it was exciting
Lin was able to maximize the players around him, making them better players, it was something Melo was unwilling to do and unable to do (elevating the team, making his team mates better players, and qualities of a LEADER)

During "Linsanity", the players were not the most talented but we played on and off the ball very well with each other's abilities, utilized screens on and off the ball, and played very good TEAM DEFENSE *especially with Jared Jeffries being the glue from Tyson Chandler to our guards*
Using the combination of PENETRATION and ability to finish, with the spacing/utilizing everyone as a threat, and facilitating/creating for others, hitting the open man for the shot

Iman/JR
Lin /Baron Davis/TD
Fields (at his natural position) (Bill Walker)
Jeffries/Novak
Chandler/ JJ/ Jorts/Jordan

No, Lin is not an ALL STAR and he was not going to even make us contenders, but we played as a TEAM, something we need to do if we are EVER going to be real contenders
This is something Woodson must figure out and attempt to change
Hiddadi would also fit very well with JJ (who I would welcome back) with his mobility on TEAM DEFENSE with Kmart as well)

Currently player on the roster that has this ability is JR Smith
Unfortunately, we need to improve the IQ of our players especially with JR/Melo, because we need TALENT, to go with TEAMPLAY, personal SACRIFICES for the better of the team, and these are things that we need to work on with CONSISTENCY and EFFICIENCY

Everyone says Tyson Chandler is not a scoring threat but during Lin's run, he was a big part of our offense, it also elevated his DEFENSIVE abilities by keeping him focused and in the game

A 28 year old player that hardly ever plays but maybe he just needs a chance.

He is currently playing for Iran in the FIBA-ASIA, it is held here in Manila. Will watch live on Sat. Ill see how he plays, but I really believe that all he needs is a chance. He played really well in Memphis in the short minutes given to him.

I'd prefer Earl Barron but if it's this guy, so be it. Not bad -- he could help down low.
