My biggest worry is that Ron will come in thinking he can chuck 3's. I think Barg's in the starting lineup could potentially make things easier for both Melo and Chandler. More so than Metta.
the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

i was tossing that around,
starting bargs gives you the long ball and scoring threat immediately,
starting artest sets the tone for tough d (this is my hope anyway),
so you can go either way, maybe they can use both starting lineups depending on who is hot, who they are playing, and so on

Lets be honest no roster is going to work perfectly smoothly for the Knicks and the reason is they dont have a true 3 on the roster. The best way to remedy that defensively is to use Shumpert ,well the problem with that is the Knicks are obsessed with PG's that cant defend their position either. So now if you use Shumpert at the 3 your going to get killed by PG's all season long again. You can start Smith at the 2 and let him guard 3's but then u have a problem with your bench. This is probably the best way to finish games though. When I look at the Knicks roster I see a bunch a players that can defend SG's and PF's with little else. This brings us to Artest. Why I wasnt against the Artest signing I thought if it cost us Martin it wasnt worth it.Martin defended 3 positions well enough that he should of been brought back. Now with the Artest signing I doubt he will want to come back and be involved in a minutes crunch. The Knicks are either forced to play with a 2nd unit of both Amare and Bargs at the 4/5 "Which is comical really the amount of money for a 2nd unit" or live with the defensive deficiency with Melo/Bargs at the 3/4. This comes back to my needs in the offseason that still havent been filled.
A stretch 4 that can defend 3's or a real sized SF 6'8" +...... No A True Back up Center preferably young ..... No A back up PG that can defend PG's ..... No
If Bargs ,Amare and JR Smith are all on the 2nd unit. Would that make the Knicks 2nd unit more expensive then their starting line up?

Yes because Shump guarded 3's. you can keep him there but then you have a minutes problem with your front court players. You also had a lot of 2 PG lineups that right now dont seem plausible

SL: Prigs, JR, Metta, Melo, Amare - high powered offense, let Melo play where he excels and let Amare get some quick opportunities against slower centers. Metta provides some defense, and JR balances out a high octane offense. Rack up the points in the first 5 minutes.
First subs: Felton, Bargs, Chandler
Unfortunately, I think the Knicks are going to have too much depth and guys are going to be dissatisfied in their roles. Would be good if they could trade 2-for-1 for a higher impact player to consolidate, but I doubt that's going to happen just based on the nature of the contracts.

I forget, did someone already end all off-season moves? Let's set the starting line up not knowing what our roster is going to be.
Oh and in the words of the immortal Xman, Fuck Phil Jackson.
Felton, Shump, Chandler, Melo, Bargs. <--Anyone who says differently at this point is selling something.
Now coming off as the second platoon for your New York Knicks: Prigs, JR, [KMart or insert your favorite available FA/Rook 5], Amare, Metta <----if healthy, this second line could be nasty. Prigs PNR (yeah, I shoot the three now coach), Amarekeem, Metta and KMart defending? Can anyone sing the JR redemption song?
Keep Stat away from playing the 5. Those knees aren't going to stand 20 seconds of banging against the backup Hibberts of the world.

My thoughts^ Woodson gonna have a ball with Bargnani, Amare and Melo trying to get them to defend and rebound. This is a Dantoni squad again. Should be entertaining to see

If Amare was an ironman and durable, Id go this way too as I think he is more effective at C. Rebounding would potentially be horrible woth those two downlow but Id give it a try.
Now, since Amare is Mr. Crystal, thats a "no no".
