I had a argument with a Co worker that says Shump will be as good as Dwayne wade....it took so much energy not to get angry. Its cool to have love for your favorite player and feel like they have potential.....but when has Shumpert shown Dwayne wade skills? I think we all wouldagree Shump us closer to Tony Allen and maybe close to raja bell in his prime. That's it. Superstar status? That's ridiculous.

Tim Hardaway to me looks like Cuttino Mobly. I believe that's his cap. His low is probably, Anthony marrow marrow. I believe that's fair.

What's your take on it?

Any comparison to Wade is ridiculous, but his ceiling is a lot higher than a Raja Bell.
I could see Shumpert developing into a Paul George type of player.

I'll take Bruce Bowen with added offense and athleticism for Shump.

I'll take a poor man's Cuttino Mobley for THJR.

I was thinking Paul George, but Igoudala is probably more accurate at least in style of play.

You mean the current paul george, because paul george in his prime will be unstoppable

Iguodala is more of a realistic comparison

Dwayne wade is nothing special, he hustles alot. his shooting is by no means impressive, he just knows how to get to the basket

I would take paul george over wade

no clue on Hardaway... I see Shump as somewhere between Ariza and Sprewel

The thing about Paul George and iggy us they came into the league already playing like this. Shumpert is years away from achieving that and he would have to rigorously practice to get to that point. Shumps offensive game is very limited right now

Iggy and George were not NBA ready in their first yr. And quite frankly Shumpert will probably not be as good as those two. He is 2inches shorter. But does he have to be? does it mean we trade him because Hardaway is already better offensively? Even though he seems to be another JR like low percentage chucker?

Haven't seen enough of Hardaway, but Cutino Mobley would be pretty nice.

JR's injury is certainly gonna give Shump ample opportunity to show how much his offensive game has improved and hopefully for us it'll be a continuation of his outside shooting from the playoffs. If that's the case, he'll be a problem for alotta teams. I like the Iggy comparison/ wish, but don't think, he will be a Paul George/ and say the Wade one is ridiculous.

Well you are right according to the numbers comparing rookie years.

Still Shump hasn't improved enough for me to say he is untouchable. Thing is he could very well improve to Iggy status status....but in two years. Are the knicks the kind of team you can wait two years for talent to develop? We can stash one player, but Shump has the most trade value.

I have a feeling the knicks are looking to make a move. I keep thinking rondo is the one. If the Celtics came calling and asked for Shump, i would say good bye. The outcry would be big but is Shump on that level realistically speaking? A rondo is a top 5 point guard in the NBA. Shump is not there yet. Maybe in two years. But we have bigger goals

Initially coming out I thought Shump looked a bit like Westbrook but I went with him turning into an Iguodala, which I don't think is unreasonable. I think he has room to improve his handle but by now I don't know if he'll make that big of a leap. I think Iggy is a better athlete and far better handler/distributor. I would go with Tony Allen with a jumper. I compared Hardaway a bit to Morrow as well with a little more athleticism and a little less skill.

I like the Tony Allen with a jumper comparison for Shump. I hope Hardaway is more than Morrow.

Shump is a goner. Between this with Dolan and what his criticisms of Woodsons offense he doesn't stand a chance

I think Iman Shumpert has a little higher ceiling than Tony Allen.. I'm thinking more along the lines of an athletic Aaron Mckie, maybe Landlord Spree. I think Tim Bug Jr. could project to be a Ricky Davis type.

Shumpert has he to play a full season. How can anyone make a judgement on his ceiling based on that?

let's hope that Shump puts in some work this summer. His cameo in the summer league didn't look promising. Shump needs to take a big step this season, or he's gone.
