Strange that someone would post this unedited footage. I don't know what to make of the rumors about Shump. Teams talk among each other all the time and throw things out there. Doesn't mean it was gong to happen.

It's always strange for me to see Stephen A. Smith since I used to see him in the hood LONG ago when we were both young and he wasn't anybody yet. It used to be strange for me to see Mark Jackson and his brother at the park. Mark used to come from St. Johns games and walk right into the Burger King or McDonalds with his warm up gear on and stand in line. I had no idea he'd end up on the Knicks. Funny.

What we have now? 6 SGs? With JR signing Shumpert became our main trade chip.

Tell me, does anyone REALLY believe Dolan would sit down and discus such things with this fool?

This is random....

Stephen A can't be happy about this. He would rather officially say something than have something like this leaked.

I agree with the idea that rumors fly all the time. Teams talk and not everything is reported. Wouldn't be surprised if the knicks made a blockbuster trade. Grunwald always has a trick up his sleeve

^^ exactly and depending on who they were considering, I can't be mad IF he was on the block. No player is untouchable and if the value gotten in return is worth it, you move him. Still don't believe the report. Sometimes to improve the team, even fan favorites get traded. If they move him, the move better be worth it.

that's the bitter lesson i learned from the gallo deal,

don't fall in love with the homegrown players because they WILL ship out,

so now i try to enjoy the big names that will come,

and to be honest, you gotta go for the fences now that the nets are in the area code with the torpedo fish

Also, the report about him on the Block because of SUMMER LEAGUE is bogus. I just remembered an interview Shump did saying he was really looking forward to Summer League because last summer he wasn't able to do anything but rehab. So, at least part of this story seems bogus to me.

Rooting for this team gets harder every year. This would probably be the final straw for me. Unless we are trading for Lebron I'd be done with this team

Its tough because the knicks have had such a bad history when it comes to trades the past 12 years or so

you've heard this before....."DONT HATE THE PLAYER, HATE THE GAME"
The knicks are only doing what the majority of nba teams are doing. They are trying to win a championship and if trading shump gets you closer to a chip, you do it. Especially when shump doesn't appear to look like a superstar and you just drafted and signed multiple sg's. Shump has shown us that he's not a pg......he's not a sf.....and he's barely a SHOOTING guard. So he really doesn't have a defined position. And this gm, for the most part has made all the right moves. He also cleaned up all the bad moves. Its a risky move but sometimes you need a gm that's not afraid to make certain trades.p

Any idea why Shumpert pulled out of summer league?

Here's a theory. He looked like any other prospect out there. He actually had a horrible game missing all his shots from the field. He liked ok. Nothing special. After 2 years regardless if injuryhe should look more fluid in summer league. Maybe he would play better with better players. Still his play should stand out.

So what is Shump? Knicks need dude to give us at least 10-12 points per game since jr will be coming of injury. If he's just going to be as good as raja bell at 36 years old, then the knicks should just sign raja and trade Shump to get an upgrade somewhere else.

Tim Hardaway jr upside is greater than Shump in my opinion. Hardaway looks like Cuttino Mobley to me.

The main reason why he didnt look good is because he isnt a PG For some reason the knciks keep trying to make shunpert a pg and thats not his game. He is a SG/SF who should drive to the hoop.

I agree but his summer league play is only a small part. I think the knicks and his agent thought shumps value will only drop lower if he continues to play. I would love to keep homegrown talent. But shump isn't on David lee or zack randolph level. And we got rid of them. i was against those two decisions.... but with shump, plus the current talent we have. ..and the moves the nets made..... you have to do something to keep up with the other teams in the eastern conference....everybody has improved drastically while the heat are primed for a 3rd championship.

I understand why they want him to be a PG because of the advantage it would give them but he just doesnt have the Basketball IQ for it. Shump is a nice player but I think he lacks a feel for the game upper echelon players have.

he didn't pull out as far as I know. He was/is only scheduled to play 3games in summer

league, not all of it.

Yeah, he missed a few shots but, he was mainly focusing on trying to run the team. Hard to build chemistry with the youngins when you haven't played with them before and them, just getting their feet wet.

Do u really believe Shumpert is an All Star level talent? If u dont whats the big deal. Im not saying trade him for Jared Dudley like that horrible trade but if the Knicks can get back a borderline All Star or a young player with equal talent at PG I would do it.
