Andrea Bargnani 41-7-6 2 years ago. Dont poo poo this trade. Before he was hurt he was playing at an all star level and hes 27 years old. We gave up absolute crp for him.

Gotta see who the picks turn into before we say we gave up crap.

But I think Wallace showed us that having a big man that can shoot fits this Melo system.

Didn't we make this trade already for McGrady? Wasn't he "an all star from 2 years earlier" when we gave up a boatload of assets for him as a half a season rental? This trade is incredibly shortsighted and robs us of the only real tool we have left to meaningfully improve this roster.

If we are going to go by the 2 years ago thing then we should not need bargs because we have Amare. Amare was an all star and a superstar for half a season 2 years ago.

a high school junior? That 2013 draft pick is doing summer youth right now and playing AAU basketball on the weekend....

the knicks are trying to be the Spurs right now....left field moves and trying to build a contender now. We are a 54 win team. The object is to build on that not wait for this high school kid to play 2 years collage to sit on the bench for 2 seasons....

The Spurs method for building a team is through the draft. You devaluing the importance of those picks is counter to the culture that the Spurs have established. The fact is that Bargnani is a lateral move at best, which defeats the purpose of giving up the picks, except to get rid of Novak's contract for 2015. If that was the objective, it was a pretty dumb move because $4 million for the hope of signing a free agent, when you have at least $50 million to play with, is stupid.

With what we had to trade Camby Novak and nothing else but a pick we have to swap if necessary we got a player who scores 20 points a night who is 7-0 260. He should with a much more spread offense go up in efficiency.. What else were we going to get? They did it for the 1 and it could come back to haunt us but lets play the next 2 years out--then we haev massive free agency again.

He's played 66, 31 and 35 games the last 3 seasons. In 7 seasons, Bargnani only had two 20ppg seasons (one of which you have to round up for) and took him better than 33mpg each to do. I'm not encouraged by this deal in the slightest and you know I'm not one of the debbie downer types on this board.

2 untradeable players got us a possible difference maker....

and the players that actually have value are still on the roster. So the Knicks could actually make another splash this summer.

You of all people...the draft guru...supports trading a 1st rounder and 4 second rounders(2 from Camby deal) for this one dimensional scrub? C'mon man.

I knew it. I knew you would support this awful trade. Still on that agenda I see.

I think it was a great trade. Not sure but did you think the Knicks could get anything for Camby and Novak? Also, I am not sure why you keep saying I have an agenda. I liked the move. This might be the only place where it was responded to negatively.

What? Every Knicks forum is taking a collective dump on this trade, Raptor fans are celebrating and the media is calling it a typical Dolan panic move.

Right, which is why you save a first for a better player than Bargnani. The Raptors were begging teams to take him and we overpaid for him, as usual.

NO there are other places. This trade has potential. Its not that bad. It cracks me up that the people who say Camby and Novak are unmovable are in such an uproar when they get moved. 2nd round picks can be bought or gotten easily. Ronnie Brewer got Ny a 2nd rd pick. No one knows what will happen this offseason. So why not let everything play out.
