I would offer Melo/Novak and pick 24 for Aldridge/Batum and a 2014 1st

I'd do that in a heartbeat but I doubt they would. Its a damn shame we couldn't pair Aldridge AND Melo together. It probably would be more one on one stuff from both players but would still make for a compelling storyline.

Any Knick fan would love that trade. Aldridge is better than both Melo and Novak and so is Batum!

Rose is not the answer.

You might get your wish in 2015.

on another note. It is amazing how Portland fans value their players. A lot of their fans on the message boards I visited could careless about Battum or Matthews. Fans would take Tyson for Battum and add ins. I wish their FO thought liked their fans.

If Ny had some picks I could see them getting Aldridge actually if it is true that they would trade Aldridge straight up for Noah. Tyson and and pick/s for Aldridge would be a decent settle if they value a center so bad.

However, It really seems that of the Knicks were shopping Tyson Portland would be the team to get the most assets back from.

If only teams allowed their fans to have input with trades! Lol. It's so gimmicky that it might turn out to have broad appeal. Blazer fans can afford to hemorrhage assets because their front office has done a wonderful job in acquiring them for decades. Not only are they confident they could get another player of equal or better value to Aldridge but they also understand that Aldridge, as good as he is, isn't a franchise player or bona-fide allstar. Aldridge is still pretty good but he is the Shareef Abdur-Rahim of this generation.

3G4G, We arent trading Melo man. Give it up.

Odds of us getting Aldridge through a trade is 0.0000000001%

Aldridge so good yet his team didnt make the playoffs. HILARIOUS!

aldridge is a very soft player - i wouldn't build a team around him. id have no problem putting him next to melo but id never make him the franchise guy.

Melo can opt out so he don't go where he don't want to.

I wouldn't deal Shumpert. Two way players are hard to find in this league.. Shumpert's offense will develop. Trading Chandler would have to be considered.. s&t JR/Chandler #24 for Aldridge and 39 and 40. We got a deal!

This would give us a legit big 2.5 Id start Marcus Camby but play him only 60 games and 20 minutes per Aldridge Melo 2 guard to be named later Felton. With a bench of Amare the Greek player Kenyon Martin--see where JR Smith is because in this case Id like to retain him. But this would make the team better.

I see where you are going with Aldridge at PF.. Where we disagree is that trading Shumpert makes us better. It actually would create a glaring hole at SG.. especially if we lose JR. I wouldn't deal Shumpert right now for ANYBODY SHORT OF LEBRICK James! To me, he's as close to untouchable as Melo would be!

That said, trading Chandler would make sense because of the salary cap, also in dealing JR.. assuming we'd get those picks 39 and 40.. we could pick up replacements like Withey at Center or even better Mike Muscala, plus a bonafide playmaking pg like Myck Kabongo or potential steal pick in Ray McCallum Detroit Mercy.. JUST NOT AT IMAN's expense!

You seriously wouldnt trade Shumnpert for anyone but Lebron James. He scored 7 points a game last year. He will never be an All Star why is he untouchable. I wouldnt trade him for crap like Jared Dudley but I would move him if the team got better and there are plenty of better players then Shumpert. Probably 20 players on rookie deals i would deal him for.

Shumpert was great in the playoffs and he was coming back from injury all year. I think he's a guy that has proven he has potential to be a star. I'd trade him but it would have to be the right deal. At a minimum, excellent scorer plus draft picks.

Yes, seriously! He has the makeup of a star in this league... two way player, has the intangibles.. Leadership capability, galvanizes the squad.. knows when to turn up.. has handle, can pass, shooting is improving. He is Kawai Leonard in the making.. trust me, the boy has a skills that would be foolish in trading away! IMO

What you're saying here is that you believe that Shumpert has the ability to be the 2nd best player in the NBA.

Without looking, I feel comfortable saying that I would trade Shumpert straight up for 90% of players that have, at some point in the past 5 seasons, made an All-Star game, received a vote for MVP, or received a vote for the All-NBA 1st, 2nd, or 3rd teams.

Now the joy of my world is in Zion How beautiful if nothing more Than to wait at Zion's door I've never been in love like this before Now let me pray to keep you from The perils that will surely come

LOL.. If that's the way you interpret it, so be it. Bottom line is I wouldn't trade him for fodder. He has value.. will be better, and definitely projects to be 1 of the best two way players in this league.. He certainly is the BEST PERIMETER DEFENDER as it stands! Why give that up,if it doesn't substantially improve our team? Not for nothing, NYK needs to stop making lateral moves.. recognize their current talent base and build on it.. ala San Antonio, OKC.. etc.
