to me, it's that his pudgy build is finally catching up and he is now faced with the prospect of launching more and more long balls,

i saw just now in a neighboring thread that you think this is his best time,

i tell you that he is now slightly past his peak, and beginning a slow decline,

he shot over 6 threes a game,

what is this, when you start shooting more long balls? that's because he's unable to score in more dynamic ways like when he was younger,

red flag

how else can you interpret this record number of three point attempts!?

He hit 3s at a good rate. There's plenty to complain about with him but 3s aren't an issue IMO

it's not the % he hits, it's the number he takes,

what do you think of this, that he shot more than twice his career average

As a star he bypassed the "red giant" and "supernova" stages and went straight for the "black hole" stage?
TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

the coach is weak or has a poor strategy.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

If you hit a high %, you should take a lot of shots. What do I make of it? This is one of the few areas of the game where he makes good decisions?

That's right. I forgot that he occasionally is able to create matchup problems. As I said yesterday you are the first to have this insight. I have never heard opposing coaches, players or teammates describe him in this way.

he was never suppose to keep a high percentage. Anomoly-Melo
high volume high percentage 3 point shooters are hard to come by. It's what made Novak so impressive the year before and shot it at an unbelievable rate.

This shows we need some more post scoring and a pg that can penetrate and dish to open up the offense a bit.

Dude wasn't pudgy this season at all. He wears alot of padding around his ribs which makes him look bulky. We all saw he great he looked coming into the season. Considering his usage and minutes, no way he was putting weight on during the season either so, your off base.

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

He isn't a tweener. Just because the COACH plays you out of position does not make you a tweener. Hes a true 3 who is strong and capable enough to play the 3. A tweener is like a 6'2 guy that doesn't know if he's a 1 or a 2.

he is too slow to defend small forwards on the perimeter and too short and weak to defend power forwards on the block. he is deficient on the defensive end. if he really dedicated himself to getting in supreme shape-- 218-225 with 10-12% body fat-- he might be able to actually defend the perimeter.

his fans may want to believe that he is versatile on offense-- meh-- but on defense he is a tweener.

Couldn't quite bring yourself to make that a statement of opinion, rather than a question, huh? Or were you actually being rhetorical?

Could this be the christening of Mr .379???

It's absolutely hilarious that people describe him as pudgy and out of shape when he's more physically fit than 95+% of the people posting these comments.

Pudgy for an NBA player and pudgy for an American are two entirely different things. Even Eddy Curry probably had a lower % body fat than half the posters here

I've seen Melo in person and you'd be shocked at how thin he really is. The undergarment he wears makes him look bigger than he actually is....

melo shoots personal record three point shots, what is this sign of?
