We're screwed. IMHO this was the best chance that we had at competing for a title. Melo wins the scoring title, JR Smith wins 6th man of the year, Tyson Chandler makes 1st team all defense. Maybe the depression hasn't lifted as of yet considering it's only been a few days but what do we have forward to look to next season? Unless there is some sort of miracle yet to happen where we can somehow wind up with Chris Paul signing for the league minimum or some sort of wishful thinking we have no where to look but down.

Chicago get's Rose back next season.
Indy gets better with Granger next season.
Miami is still Miami.
Who knows what Boston pulls off.
etc., etc. etc.

What we have....

MELO and ZERO cap room to add anything of substance.

Oh well... LET'S GO YANKEES!!!!

last years MVP Rose isnt playing, Wade is banged up, Indy doesnt have Granger.. the pathway is wide open for a shot at the finals and Melo shoots 37% in 6 playoff losses while taking 26 shots per game. Horrible and depressing. Everything on a silver platter for the dude. He's just a leader. Not fair to ask him to be or keep harping on this. Just time to move on. Maybe we get lucky with him like Denver did that one year but Im not riding this horse past the next two years when ALL these donkees come off the books

I'm sure Dolan and the gang can cook up some kind of "blockbuster deal" that can make us hopeful for next season.

Time for those of you who don't believe in this team to just give up and leave i guess. Find a team with a better future, smh.

Melo isn't going anywhere and we couldn't give Amare away last off season. We trade away Chandler and now we're left with no center.

I'll never leave the team but I'm finding very little to believe in. We won 54 games in a crazy up and down season getting a HUGE contribution from Kidd who looks cooked. Kurt Thomas saved our season and probably ended his career in doing so. Wallace gave us heart and defense for a bit but now he's done.

Shump is gonna get better, only started to really turn it on during playoffs.
Chandler played like caca in playoffs, will be better.
No Amare in playoffs, he started to be a very reliable big and post player off bench.
This group has only been together a year.
JR upped his game this past year to get 6th man, I expect more of the same.
KMart for a full year?
Camby not hurt and playing?
Cope is past adjustment period and part of rotation?

I agree, "STAY THE COURSE", this is our path for now.

Im sure there will be some small changes.

Championships in our future? Who can say? Noah can have a bad injury, Lebron could break a leg, or Bosh get hurt, and Indy's chemstry with Granger might not be better.

ITs about who gets it together late in the year.

Has Baron Davis officially retired?

I definitely feel that Shump will get better. He'll be playing summer league and working on being more decisive on offense.
Chandler - hopefully will work on at least ONE offensive move to score a basket.
Amare - To me a wild card. Health and will to be a bench player are HUGE.
JR - Hopefully we can resign at decent money and he stays coming off the bench.
KMart - Depends on $$$ I guess
Camby - Always hurt and not playing.
Cope - Hopefully the Knicks re-sign. He wants to come back but said he'd be lying if money wasn't an issue.

Fire the coach and blow up the team. If we can't win a championship at least we can have some off-court drama.

no please stop you sound optimistic ... sky is falling .. we are doomed... one season and only 54 wins and 2nd round ... end of sarcasm

yes like you i think many areas can be improved from within .. and with some smart management we will have a very competitive team next year with the addition of stability and one full year together for the core of the team ... but don't say that too loud ... sky is falling !

Walsh messed up really bad signing Amare. Tyson's lack of production and sudden need to lead through comments in the media are pretty disheartening. This mess isn't on Melo. The Knicks have 35 million committed to their other two front court players and they moved picks to get the cap space so that they could have them. Donnie Walsh?!?!
