I myself was very disappointed with how our season ended, but this is the first time since my early 20's I was excited about this team. Me being dessert thirsty the past 13 seasons, I couldn't ask for more than what we got this season. Yeah, we have some whole to fill, but hopefully we can make it back to the second round next season. The team has set a standard moving forward. Nothing less then a second round appearance next season.

I wish the next season could start tomorrow. I am really proud of this team, and I enjoyed screaming at my TV this season during this bumpy ride. I think it is fair to say that the NYK is officially back. Go NY, GO NY Go!

i will use an analogy here,

if you have an employee, you maybe run a nice company that produces high quality socks and underwears,

and this employee, he is good for you maybe for 2 years, never a problem and is consistent, serious, dedicated,

but then one day after 2 years of great work, you find out that he has stolen a pallet of high quality socks, a theft of $15,000 to you,

in this situation, everything good he did in the previous 2 years goes out the window because of what he did at the end,

in the same way, everything good the knicks did this season goes out the window because of the pitiful display they gave us at the end,

to come out with no heart, to freeze up like a deer in headlights, to end it so ugly, i have nothing good to say about this season, there is nothing to hang a hat on.

I was emotionally destroyed Saturday night. But, looking back, this was a good season. But it's all about perspective. If we have the same season next year with a 1st or 2nd round exit, I won't be proud, happy or satisfied.

But we won 54 games. Made a relatively deep run. You hate to use past failures as a justification of being happy for a team that fell short of what their potential was, but this was a good ride. Losing to Miami would've been easier to deal with, but it was a good year. Hopefully next year we can somehow compete against Chicago with Rose back and Indiana with another year of experience and Granger. I think we can. But Grunwald has his work cut out for him.

that's the thing about Quality,

it must be maintained, it's not a one shot deal,

you have to come correct all the time, not just some of the time, because if you're gonna come correct only SOME of the time THEN DO ME A FAVOR AND DON'T COME AT ALL!!

i wouldn't have anything critical to say if they came out and banged them all series,

but they came out flat way too many times for my liking and even the first round against a Celtics team that had no business being in the post season, even against the first round they made us shake a little bit, they were not sound,

It was a great season. Plenty to build on as well. Development of Shumpert, hopefully Copeland, and our draft pick gives plenty of reason for optimism in addition to improved chemistry.

From the start when we went to a win now roster and an even older roster than anyone has ever put together, I said this team had to get to the ECF's in order for this to be a good season. Winning games in the regular season is one thing, but the entire goal was a team capable of challenging the Heat. No ECF's and I can't really be happy about the season cuz NOW WHAT DO WE DO? This isn't a young team with years ahead of it. A HUGE CHUNK of the roster will have to be turned over again next year! IMO this was never about the regular season, but instead about getting a shot against the Heat in the ECF's. That was the goal.

I think we knew that the old players would have very little impact for the Knicks. Just based on last years playoff we could say I told you so. Not one of the old foggies contributed Copeland was Grunwalds best move for the playoffs and Woody wanted nothing to do with him.

I think this team peaked during the season and is on the other side of the bell curve. Need youth movement.

true and false. True because Kidd, Kurt, Camby gave us nothing in the playoffs but goose eggs, but there were definate stretchs where we all thought we would be lost without Kidd so perhaps he was able to set a good tone, but lacked the legs to sustain.

We def need a mix. Knicks should actively look to add picks for cash or even a bad contract to build up the bottom of this roster. Shump is the lone bright spot. It was my #1 reson for wanting Lin, he was young and had upside

I thought it was a great year. I posted somewhere that my son is 14 and the last time the Knicks were playing in May he was 1. Seems like a lifetime ago. I hope the Knicks can bring back Cope, Prigs, Martin and JR. I think the team can build on its success. Really excited about Shumps development. I can't wait for the draft and to see what great euro discoveries Grunwald finds this offseason.

I think I would have been happier with the season if the team played well in the playoffs. As a whole, they sucked donkey dong. Don't care if it was Melo, supporting cast, or coaches at this point. Top-to-bottom, terrible showing in the playoffs and that matters more than a really excellent regular season

Finally a good season. If anyone really thought that this team was better than the Pacers they are dreaming. New we match up better against the Heat where the Pacers do not. You better believe the Pacers will not get the calls in thier favor when they play the Heat. The Heat will get all the calls and the Pacers will go home. Now the Pacers Have a very good team and out of all the teams in the NBA the Pacers feared me the most. Right now everyone is too angry to think straight. We will have a better team next season and it Melo opts out of his contract next season he will resign with the knicks because he and other star players like Amare if you take all of the money out of the kitty then what do you have left to sigh other players.
Great season Knicks. Melo be the leader I think you can be next season and New York City will be yours.

quite agree. watching them be down to bos at the half and have to fight back almost every game that series was unpleasant. with all sorts of injuries to key players on other teams, this was an ideal year to capitalize on that.

Now really guys be honest how did you expect for us to compete against the Pacers when all of our bigs went down. Tyson still was hurt too.
With that being said somewhere in Eourpe there is a 7 foot 4 inch big waiting for us. We need an alstar like big playing power forward. We need to surround Melo with bigs who can score under the basket. We need shumpet to learn how to finish around the rim. There are future stars out there who is not in the draft that can be a top ten or five pick. we must find them. We need big bigs and I don't mean a 6 ft 9 inches I mean at least 6ft 11 to 7 ft 6 inch giant

Mixed feelings. Happy with 54 wins, feeling good that they made the second round of the playoffs after all the years of mediocrity. But, the expectations were higher, particularly with the expectation of making the ECF to face Miami. We failed to accomplish that, despite being the better team. Meanwhile, we'll be a year older next year with the oldest roster in NBA history and some major injured pieces returning to key opponents next season. I don't like our future outlook, but I remain hopeful it will improve at the draft.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

It was a great season, for losers. I'm proud of the team organization and players for trying so hard to work out a dysfunctional owner's mess. But a mess is a mess, and it will take at least 4 years to clean it up. It's like you got the numbers to Kate Upton but then your musician-wannabe dad takes the number from you and call her himself and then finds out the numbers were fake and never told you about it and gave you the numbers back but missing 2 digits and now you gotta figure out how to get her missing numbers and that's even before you realize this whole thing was a lie.

This regular season was fools gold. MElo ball works in the regular season, but when you get to the post season, and have to play the elite squads in 7 games series, MElo ball gets exposed! Not shocked at all by the ending. Melo is a terrific scorer. One of the best in the history of the game, but his game style doesn't win championships cause the better will contain him, then what? Gotta learn to get others involved or we will be making early exits often.

This was WIN NOW team, that didn't. Where I come from that's considered a failure, now there are people who will sit here and bleat about scoring champions and second in the East - **** that. We didn't even get close to do the one thing we were all told to expect - Championship contention.

What is it that I am supposed to be overjoyed about? We bought one 10 year old Camaro and we run around pretending like we own a fleet of Ferraris. Good luck winning a Grand Prix with that!

Now we will try the same formula again and we will end up with the same results. We will never be contenders when Melo is the primary option. Black holes don't win championships by themselves there's no historical precedence for this.

TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

Shump is the smartest player on the team, if everyone played with his heart and character, the Knicks would be preparing for game two against Miami today.
