The Knicks are learning about the playoffs as a team. Doug Collins made an interesting point that even though we have a veteran team, we do not have playoff experience together. Whatever issues with ball holding, shot making and suit selection will be addressed on the team bus.

Was that JR Smith or John Starks vs the Houston Rockets?

Friday night the Knicks return to the scene.

It is a big boy moment. We win game 6.

I could see it going 7 but I'd be astonished if we lost the series.

comes a time. Comes a time.........

The pollen fills the air with toxic breath as Woodson returns with his catch. Dinner will later than usual. The boys are upstairs playing dressup. He checks on them before preparing the meal and sees them laying out fine black threads. "Who died" he jokes! JR chimes in "Celtics" pops, "Celtics"! JR is confident and boasting about the big game he will have. Melo, is in the mirror sizing up where his next tat's will be in the off season. Thinks a bust of Walter Kennedy, whose name is on the championship trophy might be cool.

Woodson shakes his head and mumbles "I hope they know what they are doing".........

After the bad loss the father figure is mad and the boys are ashamed. On the way home little is said. Woodson says nothing. The quiet hangs in the air like a bad stench released from the colon.

They arrive at the home and its just understood, no video games, no watching Scarface for the 809th time, just head to bed.

They look at woodson and he says just two words: "man up". The words are suspended in time and the effect is intense.

The players look at each other and nod as if they know what to do.

Then they chuckle, call out Woodson to remind them they are the players and he is the bytch! Melo fires up his bentley and seeks the whole grain goodness of La La while JR jumps on his bike and tweets nonsensical gibberish looking to get some phat booty!

Woodson retreats to his sanctuary and stares in the mirror. He sees a man with a gray hair on his face. No he says, we will not go quietly into the night! A fresh box of "just for men" is retrieved and the dark abyss returns.

If only there was a bottom in sight.

There is no shame in winning a series 4-2.

Now the fun starts

This is not fun. 1-0, 1-1, 2-1, 3-1, 3-2, 4-2 is fun. 1-0, 2-0, 3-0, 3-1, 3-2 is not fun.

I feel like the C's have already won game 6. Woody needs to get through to his guys ASAP.

Woodson awakens to hear sobbing in another room. He puts on his slippers and robe to check. He knows not to check on JR and Melo's room as they are likley still out for the evening. He hopes they are safe. His mind focus' again on the sobbing and he senses its coming from Amare and Shumps room.

When he opens the door he sees Amare staring at a picture Theodor Herzl. Woodson was curious why the creator of the Zionist movement would sadden young Amare?

"He died without realizing his dream!" "I don't want to fall into the same path!" Woodson was amused and puzzled by this, he stroked his facial hair as many men do looking for answers, only to be amused that his hand would disappear into the void of his freshly darkend mass. He replied "is it the result or mans journey that defines his true character"? Amare thought that while Herzl never realized his dream, he had paved the vision for others who eventually succeeded! He pondered that thought then promptly thought it was bullshyt. He wanted a ring now!

Woodson sensed young AMare wanted to do something special. Perhaps as a coach he could eat a raw lobster in lockerroom to fire up his palyers in boston or play Amare as symbol of heroic journey. He walked over and grabbed a book with a picture of willis reed. He was happy he put the bookshelf up and stocked with books. He told the story that Willis was a young high flying rookie of the year 6 years before the knicks won, and as knee injuries mounted Willis got more powerful and grew strong his game. He was their captain and while clyde was the hero it was his symbolic effort in game 7 that rallied the team and freaked out the mighty Chamberlin! Woodson thought maybe he would try to play Amare if there was a game 7 and perhaps that magic could work again!!!!!

Amare was very excited about the story and when woodson was finished he replied: "Who was Willis again?

"BroMance"? More like "Joe Clark" meets "Fagin" from Oliver Twist set in the woods. WOodson is teaching them to be men.

Unfortunately he has more work to do, with some players anyway. I'm really disappointed in Kidd for not suggesting that they put aside the symbolism and the talk, and just finish off the Celtics.

The title of this thread can easily be applied to the celtics. They are getting stronger because the Knicks are showing an inability to eliminate the Celtics.

I guess in hindsight its easier to critique lets give "coach" Kidd the benefit of the doubt for a moment and consider that one cannot perhaps fathom they respond so badly to a team unity proposition.

Melo and JR have some serious reputation baggage they are carrying and trying to shred. Game 3 for JR was his test and he mentally bailed. Game 5 last nite was on Melo to free himself from the "one and done" label.

ITs all good when your "coming come" and prior series as the team was really un equipped to make a run.

Knicks are no. 2 seed and not reeling in the face of losing Amare at all. This is a no. 2 seed who really does not know how to close a series and not battle tested.

Gotta be cool!

New York Tough

Win game 6 on their court and earn some playoff cred.

Lose game 6 and we lace the shoes extra tight or Sunday.

How did you get more optimistic about this team than me, Bonn?! What statistics have you seen?!

Hope you're right- if it comes down to talent we should win, but the celtics have many dirty tricks and head games, and as the regular season showed we're susceptible to both. Man I won't be able to sleep easy until this series is over...

Amar'e is not playing this series. You don't reintroduce him in game 6 or 7. You can't...
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

The main point is to win - even 4-7 is good - and I think we will.
FIX THE KNICKS / AND MAKE THEM SHINE / GET ’EM TO WIN LIKE ITS ’69 / HITTIN’ ALL THEIR FREE THROWS / AND NO MORE SHOOTING BRICKS / TIME TO GET IT RIGHT / AND FIX THE KNICKS
