Not sure if I agree or not but tonight was rough. Brandon Bass defends Melo very well. He also defends LBJ well. Bass and Deng might give Melo the most trouble.

Those fans were specifically referring to games that they watched and witnessed him getting hacked with no whistle.

Not really they often make mention of his free throw attempts in comparison to those who shoot more than him across the league. Matter of fact they were complaining about his attempts recently in a playoff game where he went to the line like a dozen times. So really often times there's no rhyme or reason other than general complaining. Not to mention Melo dishes out lots of punishment around the rim.

The complaints themselves stem from seeing him get hacked in games. It makes it even worse when we see Durant get to line for much less contact. At least the fans I've seen feel that way.

Melo has to cut down on the technical fouls during the season, he is usually right up there near the top of the league. Refs remember these things.

That happens to everyone - especially guys who spend time deep in the paint. Have you ever watched Dwight Howard closely?

we had Mebury and now we have Me-low. Iso-Meelow doesn't work, we know this. Iso-Meelow when your shooting is making Chris Duhon look like a sharpshooter = gross stupidity.
the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

The problem is that he only trusts high PPG teammates like JR, Amare, and the Olympics players. Otherwise, he thinks the team is better off with him chucking than an open shot from a teammate. It's ridiculous but he seems to think that way.

Yeah I did. Dwight was one of my favorite player when he was in Orlando. So, doesnt that mean the fans were right to wonder why Melo didnt shoot more fts?

Not really. You have to factor in that a decent percentage of all contact doesn't get called. A lot of the people complaining expect that to be different for Melo for some reason.

How much contact do people make on Lebron that doesn't get called? Durant? Wade? Kobe? A lot of people who watch Melo operate think that he just might qualify for the same treatment.

Alot of it has to do with perception with refs. Alot of times, guys bounce off Melo upon contact, and he tends not to exaggerate once he gets hit.

The other is relationship with refs. He tends to berate or argue non calls every chance he gets, this has to stop.

There's a reason he led the Knicks in techs.

Got to man up and play through non calls.

Woody really needs to figure out how to get Melo in the post. When perimeter shots are not falling then get his arse in the blocks. He should look at old Ewing game tapes on how to get the ball 6-10 feet from the basket.

People make it sound like these guys get triple the foul calls Melo does. Durant takes less than 1 more trip a game to the line and I think Melo actually goes to the line more than those other players.

In end of game situations, there is definitely a significant difference. You make it seem like their is no bias by refs or the NBA. Did you forget that stretch where LeBron, who some feel is a all world defender, didn't receive a personal foul?

Unlike LeBron, Melo just complains after the whistle. LeBron is usually screaming like a woman who was just mugged as soon as someone touches him and can flop with the best of them. The fact that Melo isn't really a flopper is the key in my opinion and LeBron doesn't get the techs because he is the golden goose of the NBA. He says some pretty outlandish **** to refs, yet somehow rarely draws Ts. I mean the guy can get Stern to change a foul on Taj Gibson to a flagrant 1 w/ just a little crying. It's a joke.
