When we first signed him i figured he would just be a bench warmer but the guy has been a great addition off the bench. he has a great offensive game. he can shoot the 3 and drive to the hoop. I hope Woody is gonna use him during the playoff run because we can use his offense when melo/jr are taking a rest

He had a sensational first half today. He can score in a lot of ways. I think with starters minutes the guy could get 20 ppg- he scores that easily...but he doesn't play enough defensively yet to warrant a starters minutes. Still you need to give the kid credit today. They asked him to play center and he stepped up and did a great job. He will play a key role down the stretch of the season.

Will be interesting to see what kind of money he dictates in the offseason and where he ends up. He is definitely an NBA player. Amazing it took this long for him to get into the league.

HE just needs to get more consistent. HE will have a game like this but then have a deer in the head lights game But he is a rookie. Also, what was so great about today was that his dribble was tight and his passing was great. Earlier Cope was like a black hole

Cope made 2 great kickouts to Novak today when he was rolling in the 2nd quarter. Kid was very sharp in the first half today.

Its really not a surprise.....what surprises me is woodson giving him inconsistent minutes. Also give cope credit for his improved defense and ready made instant offense.

Copeland >>> Novak

I have felt that way for a while now. The guy is a very good 11th guy on the bench, with better defensive understanding he could easily be a main rotation 9th guy off the bench

Some of us has always seen this guys potential and some others are perhaps coming around now. I've been feelin this kid all year. He's gotten better since the start of the season and deserves minutes. He's been one of our most efficient players all year and tho I can understand Woody wanting to get into his head about his D, this kid didn't deserve as many DNP's as he got IMO. Novak does less and didn't receive as much scrutiny. But all that is in the past now. Cope is a solid part of this team now and I like how he's responded to coaching.

I'm happy for Cope. He's a handful on the offensive end and I was very happy to see his awareness on the kickouts to Novak and Kidd. Reports say that Rasheed and Kenyon have been in his ear about his devensive rotations and positioning so I know that will really help. He seems like a humble guy that wants to learn.

I think Copeland could become a Chris Gatling/Corliss Williamson type... I think he's got more upside than some former #2 pick "combo" big men - Marvin Williams, Derrick Williams, Michael Beasley.

He has some well developed scoring instincts and tends to make his decisions quickly. What's amazing to me is how mediocre a college player he was, at least statistically. this guy developed some serious confidence post-college.

Beasley is a terrible player by both the eye test and advanced stats. How do you figure he is better than Cope who both has better advanced stats and passes the eye test?

The way Beasley is going he will be out of the league in 2-3 years.

A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

Copeland is 29 and hasnt even completed a season in the NBA.

What does that have to do with how good he is vs. Beasley at the present moment? Starks was bagging groceries before his first season - that had nothing to do with how good he turned out to be.

Everything is a comparison to Novak for you? Why can't Cope and Novak both have important roles? They did yesterday.

Cope's defense was just terrible though. Might as well have played 4 guys on defense. That's probably why he's not getting consistent minutes.

Copeland was good on defense yesterday--how was he bad--and he also pulled down 9 boards. He looks like a real pro player and I think he is going to also improve. Hes better than we think here--hes a double digit NBA scorer who can play 5-4-3. I think his rebounding picks up and he can score in and out. His defense has improved and is good in the team concept..

He is Legit --- I think Cope is a legit 8th or 9th rotation guy for any team in the league

I thought he was good in OKC too, guarding Durant, Serge and perkins at times. This was a very good pick up from the Euro leagues.

Lol, yes everything is a comparison to Novak, I can't help compare everything to him.

Copeland is in competition with Novak for the stretch 4 off bench, when there are more front court players back only one of them will play constantly. It is what it is.
