This season might change the rankings, and the last few weeks since the Western trip have momentum swing positive with the optimism of spring.

But, based on a flat matrix and numbers its why SOME PEOPLE ON THE UK HAVE BEEN ARGUING SOME THINGS.

Its just a financial ranking where numbers do the talking. Love your Melo if thats what you do, but to the hardest kool aid free basing Mooby suck ups understand that little will sway your FAITH, but there is justified numbers that back up the sombers and haterz. To the Anti-Melo crowd, understand there is no logical argument for love.

There are a whole bunch of you that fell for the knicks in the ewing era and that too proved no championship. You love knicks anyway. Melo can still bring that kind of passion.

What forbes does not understand is you can't put a price on hope!

Your timing after this kind of win is down right diabolical, brood of vipers, attention seeker potion mix..... type of post.

Tells me everything I need to know - dude should be #1 on the list, he hasnt really contributed much since his first season here.

Melo on the other hand just led us to our first 50 win season since 2000 and we are most likely going to get a division title with him as well - I would say he is worth the money.

Wp/WS is not very good individual stat. The knicks would be better if Brewer or Fields played instead of Melo.

This reminds me of that overrated MLB player list that had Derek Jeter either at the top or near it.

I cared as much about that list as I do about this one.

My guess is that it's based on performance while on the court, not how much the player is on the court. They probably used per 48 min stats rather than totals.

Posted before game was over.

Article was posted on friday.

It was mentioned on the UK home page and rebutted.

Nobody discussed it here.

I did not write it.

Better to read it after a great win than a loss?

Reread my comment. Its neutral. Is neutral "hate"?

It's just one list and there have been other pieces published that state otherwise. Just off if the eye test, can anyone here honestly say that players like Joe Johnson, Danby Granger and (sorry big guy) aren't more overpaid than Melo?

Picked up the article from this one:

Popper: No way Knicks' Carmelo Anthony is NBA's most overpaid player - NorthJersey.com
NorthJersey.com
This is what life can be like sometimes for Carmelo Anthony.

Anthony has been on fire since his return from a knee injury, carrying the Knicks to 11 straight victories. He has poured in points at a historic level — scoring at least 40 in each of the past three games — to match the franchise mark set by Bernard King.

As Anthony's knee ached and he finally gave in and sat out, the Knicks lost five straight games. His return turned it all around. Now, he finds himself set for an all-eyes-on-him scoring duel today (1 p.m., Ch. 7) when he and Oklahoma City's Kevin Durant face off with the scoring title in the balance.

But Friday, Forbes.com released a story labeling Anthony the most overpaid player in the NBA, utilizing a statistical measurement to calculate his win shares and compare it to his salary. And it's ridiculous.

Sometimes your eyes can tell you things that statistics can't quite describe. Anthony is scoring at a prolific rate, but it has been exactly what the team has needed, when the team has needed it. The metrics also reward his teammates for the work he does, the wins in the win shares are his, and the players who can't create their own offense live off the double- and triple-teaming Anthony absorbs.

Yet, the truly impressive part of this run is that he hasn't forced the offense while scoring 131 points over the past three games. He has converted 64.2 percent from the floor during the three games, including 57.9 percent from beyond the arc and 88.9 percent from the line, taking just 27 field-goal attempts per game to do the damage.

"That's the beauty of this whole thing for him," Jason Kidd said. "It's in the flow. None of the shots have been bad shots. All have been in the flow or going to the basket or even the wide-open three that he was a little off-balance. It's a good shot."

Kidd views the context of the scoring. But there are old school basketball folks — and I don't want to sound anti-advanced stats, but they're right in this case — who insist there is something stats still haven't measured in Anthony.

"He's a winner," Kenyon Martin said. "He won a national championship at Syracuse. He's in the playoffs every year. He's a winner."

That's his teammate. How about the most illustrious winner in Knicks history?

Why did I post it?

its a "knicks" site isn't it?

Kick it to the curb, won't hurt my feelings.

Most overpaid players in the NBA..........Uh oh!
