I am having issues about Coach Woodson please help me 'Get it!"
No no I dont think he deserves or need to be fired & this. Is even before NYK injuries

However during season & off season what the hell is his bloody job off court?

Shouldnt a nba coach be a pipeline of info. to the knicks GM STAFF & owners or scouts on needs to fill gaps? On a nba team.

I may be wrong & dont wanna hear bout NY has no picks/drafts & this or that,
I cant see the stubborn dumb Woodson doing any of such to properly as_sses what needs he'd like NY org to seek.
Woody seems like laidback "well I will Let GM Grunwald handle those player need items" & Woody would defer to
Saying nothing about players.

Recall Woodson proclaiming I like guys we got! ! Before the slide & much afterwards citing same simple outlook
Which is very weak to me. Of course I'd be a fool not to say I aint talkin bout present season I talking bout' now near future & next yr.

But i think coach need to speak up & give as_sessments that NY needs young legit PG or near best can get at draft spots
I think the bloody coach need to cite team need to get experience guys BUT also need to get young.

If coach need other coaches to develop guys with potential or a skill set coach need to let mngt know
Dont ya think???

I dont got good feel of woodson on improvements.. at least with the often criticized MDA you
Kinda knew if NY had a draft pick.. which kind of players or role MDA seek to address gaps needed
To make NYK better.

I want to know what a coach suppose to do.. other than win? And in case of Woodson if you don't
Or Nyk get early exit in playoffs what is Woodson vision? On guys needed on this Knicks squad

Sorry there I dont Trust Woodson Cause his BIG picture when Coach Mike taks on NBA Champions is really
A SMALL PICTURE when you listen to coach Woodson remarks on knicks business.

Woody is clearly goin to be around 1-2 yrs easy & unless we know if he can help knick gm staff
Address needs & certain kind of players to keep NY improving to next level is a problem to DJ if
Woodson dont have enough voice NOR know-how to do his job properly...

Also forgot to say if Woody feels NY dont have enough draft opportunities you'd think he
Open his flat/fat mouth to tell Grunwald to make moves to get picks now or near short term future
To increase Knicks chances to do best deals.. to improve the roster

The players may have tuned him out because the defense is just not what it had been the first 12 games or so.

That, and he may be being outcoached because on both ends of the floor. I mean how do you go from 18-5 to .500 ball except for that?

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

You are right!
Well said
How they go from 18-5 to. 500 ball? & barely. 500 at msg home gym games?
Its called In-eptitude Of Coach Mike Woodson coining' a Clyde Frazier term INEPTITUDE

HIS woes ..meaning coach Woody began before our very eyes
LONG long prior to serious injuries which wrecked Knicks currently

We great fans woulda had NO big issue with Woodson if he got NY to win games just a few.. in January, February
& now March games NYK coulda won some

HE DIDNT Cause Woodson is ISO/JR/Melo 101 in his poor game plans & prep
& let me clarify it aint cause of Melo whom most nites is a warrior & star not perfect But NY
Would be under. 500 without Melo or if NY was in position BULLs are in missing D.Rose

Everything got to break right for coach Woodson, yes we be exposed for bench & other players not
Being very good this yr in support role on teams.

But Mike? You think if Woodson goin to complain about Novaks?lacking Or
Complain on JR too much 3's shots.. OR not enough Felton defending lesser PGs
You'd think Mike would sit Novaks more? OR pull JR is if wasnt going to mix up his offensive plays
OR let Paublo see more time instead of lame efforts of PG Felton who gets BEAT by nearly entire nba
PGs on any team? Eh?

Coaching,
Woodson is on his laurels & luckily got reprieve now for grave injuries thus gets BIGGER pass
This year than he'd normally deserve.

Thus we can only hope Woodson figures it out in offseason.. to help our club,
Voice needs to knick brass & turn NY around in next few yrs OR we all in HUGE trouble
With Woodson here in short term as our Knick coach since Dolan LOVEs Woodson

Woody is cool man. He is in Melo camp of cool.
This is not bad but not great too.
You need to have a character and pation. I don't need to give you examples of what pationat coach is in any sport.
Anyone can see...
Woody is flat. He needs support. He need tuff nails vet players to do his job in the lockeroom and in the game.
He need Sheeds, Kids, Kurts to compliment his weak self.
He is OK technical couch. He knows the game and plays but stubborn. It is tuff for him to ajust.
Stop-gap is stop-gap.

Intelligent commentary backs opinion with facts and presents a reasonable foundation for dialogue.

You have done neither.

Float On

A coach's tasks are to hold the playing personality of the roster at a consistent focus through a marathon season.

Through injuries, personal crisis, family matters, illness, travel and bumpy flights.

A coach is to there to manage ego, pride, depression, elation and any hint of locker room friction.

The coach must be part mentor, part teacher, part critic, part adversary and run laps when the turnovers are under 12.

The coach is the rudder of the ship which appears to be suddenly floatin'.

Mike has fell short in Atlanta with guys who didn't get it even though they were good players.

He needs vets on the court who understand the game when the 2nd season comes along.

I expect the knicks to be the talk of the playoffs this year.

Many teams don't have the leadership on the court like the knicks do when it comes to ability and experience. Martin, Prigs, Kidd they make a difference with the star players playing the right tempo and playing on edge. Get ready, with the knicks , less is more success for Woodson.

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

The Invisible Man

playa - the struggles of Mike Woodsons Atlanta Hawks during the playoffs can be directly traced to the abysmal performances of the silent (cough) star Joe Johnson.

The tempermental immaturity of Josh Smith was a close second.

These Knicks may not be built for speed or perfect health, but they ARE built for more comfort (and poise) when the pressure is turned up a notch.

One more win and Mike Woodson is 30 games over .500 as the Knicks head man.

Yes sir that pretty much sums it up, heady players in the 2nd season is a must to take it to another level. Fear to fail has been teams albatross that has an inexperienced playoff rotation.

fact of matter is as Great as Woodson done in taking NY Job and leading to much success 2012 last season and
early this season

Point of post is that Woodson just like players hasn't done good job in

January and Feb.

When the coach/roster do well we praise them
its all about effort and what is seen on court.

No one as post topic prefaced is saying Woodson need to be fired that was never a contention

The players will get their blame as stars MELO and next tier guys like JR and Felton when Knicks sank
the issues NY had was not only the players , coaching is part of schemes too!

No injury's into discussion its N/A for whole season perspective unless you lost a superstar player!

So M.E
whenever the knicks are stuck in sand and look the worst doing in
please do not make any excuses for it and also for discussions on the woes being witness, has nothing to do with being a legit fan.

Knicks org. has alot of stake & whom should know better than coach (woody) , staff (glen grunwald) ..ect

It hurts to be critical
no one isn't ALL right OR all wrong for Knicks business
but when NY Struggles please do not pass it off as it being 'Ok'

It wasn't ok
in few of losses and I ran my mouth on it whether anyone liked it or NOT!
*respectively

I'll alway run from lip and its an opinion.
Players play and coaches coach, this is NewYork and all is expected here for Knicks pending success as the build on getting better!

Under Construction

DJMUSiC - January and February?

If a coach is 30 games over .500 during his tenure, given the amount of bumps in the road, he is doing a helluva job, period. Think about that for a moment. 30 games over .500.

You can lose patience and underline failure all you want (with demeaning terms and immature name calling) that you dropped on Coach Woodson.

...if Woody feels NY dont have enough draft opportunities you'd think he
Open his flat/fat mouth to tell Grunwald to make moves to get picks now or near short term future..

Wow

Lets talk basketball. During the inevitable (yes inevitable) valleys, every team struggles. The important thing is staying together as a team, which you claimed Woodson had lost. That was patently False and had no substance to back it up other than your personal bias.

There is no denying the that the team has had minimal drama and rallied around their leader. That cohesiveness counts the most when things get tough, like the 1-4 west coast trip.

"I just think we're back to that mold of knowing each other, feeling comfortable in terms of rotations, If somebody has a breakdown, somebody is there. We are getting a lot of deflections and steals. A lot of that is being in the right place at the right time, so that helps when you're trying to build a defensive system."

They hung together, stuck it out and are back to playing Knicks basketball.

62-32

DJMUSIC - Does that record indicate a head coach has done exceptionally well at achieving his "tasks"?

If not, please explain.

Mister E.

I am not going to go back & forth
with this & that , & that and this which happen last season
to this current season leading up to 62-32 records

Knicks on a lil roll now and Mike Woodson isn't devoid of
anything or critic he got passes around here for most of Jan. & Feb

YOU can be in love with Mike Woodson and all that all you want..

He/Knicks doing good job in later March 2013, & it counts now though long way to go for rest of season
weeks ending.

He/Coach Woodson hasnt done a good job in Jan. and Feb. as far as adjustment coach
& it aint about winning every game. Like I said you can love him all you want

Knicks slid then, he got a pass ,
I chose to critique Woodson. He did a bad job in a 3-5 wk stretch
you can spin that any ole' way you like he did a bad job, its always players and coach when
you lose but with lack of effort and prep. in games knicks got smoked in effortless losses.

You see it your way
I see it my way & that you cannot change my friend...

The main tasks of a coach are to (1) foster trust, (2) maintain cohesion and (3) guide his team through inevitable lapses in performance. Comeback-ability is the signature of a great coach.

I see a head coach who has done all three.

Not as some defacto General Manager as you suggest in your original post.

YOU Love the coach good for u

This post never said or raised anything about new coach or firing.

Before you BIG up your chest rasta about the coach & 62-32,
trust and comeback ability ect. ect....etc

Lets see Knicks win the ATL division first at least
Lets see that.

Mr Woodson maintained still in 1st place
Lets see NY finish the story and ATL div. title before annoiting Woodson to any accomplishments.

Knicks got 1-2 wks

Say What?

that and record isnt point anyway.

If the head coach's record isn't the point, what is the point?

You cannot get to the playoffs being no loser.

Set a consistent standard of excellence. Atlantic Division. Second round. Eastern Conference Finals?

It has been a dozen years.

You are right! about 12 yrs

The story isnt over yet. The Knicks are doing what they've always done & players woodson is part of
that.

The Knicks are doing things the hard way as norm., again. Brooook-lyn on NY backs for the div. crown
and although NY played well so has Nets and if indeed NY loses the Atl.div. which been there all yr
long in 1st place, fans will view as a sour tough pill to swallow ,, playoffs or not!

So
Lets wait to give any praise to Head coach, Melo or anything Knickerbockers until the Coach/team
is the ATL. Division NBA champions regardless of playoffs.

Knicks fans ..rasta is tired of a playoff/NBA appearance and a bounce-exit in opening round
the playoffs Knicks hasn't been too much visitors of NBA 2nd season in past 12 yrs cited.

There are no excuses for injuries, this and that
Coach been there and Woodson got all the praises and deservingly so when MDA got axed and had knicks
going the other direction.

Well the record and respect in league for Knicks is/has waned back & forth. Look at the record all we
want.

Neither The Bulls, nor Pacers or even B.Nets has any problem going vs. Knicks in NBA playoffs.
I'm sure Knicks fear no one too!

I ran my mouth about the knicks downs and it had merit then.

Knicks need to close the show and host a 1st rnd. playoff as division NBA ATL. division winners.
Nothing else won't do & I'd be a fool at this stage to predict anything else ..

lol we have a winning record and may clinch the division but our coach sucks? This board is a trip.

He may not be the best but the players are earning the W's so what's the problem? We can't have a revolving door at the coach spot.
