Arthritic Knee something that could be similar to Amar'e, or Torn Meniscus......

A leading orthopedic surgeon who did not want to be identified says that fluid in the back of the knee is commonly referred to as a baker’s cyst, and that it is rarely a condition you find in a patient “with a 100% normal knee.

Like I said yesterday this has the makings of....

Baker's Cyst

Sous Chef's Lump

Cutlery Stadium Hernia

Hells Kitchen Laceration

Iron Skillet Fracture

Can we please fire everyone affiliated with anything medically related concerning this organization? I mean the article mentions that none of the leading doctors want to attach their name to what's taken place or how's he's been handled. Why is Melo shot callin everything? The way we handle things is such a disgrace, nothing has changed

Wilbon and I believe Cowherd stated a week ago, there is something seriously wrong with Melo's knee than what's being led on. This ain't sounding good folks. What's exactly wrong with his knee, who knows, but we all know if this was the Phx Mecial Staff we would surely know what the story is and the situation would have been handled completely by now.

Those are both completely different issues with completely different consequences. Other doctors have guessed it could be a loose bone fragment, or a loose bot of cartlige that could eventually lead to the need for micro fracture surgery! In other words it could be anything. At the moment using the guess of a doctor who hasn't seen any of the MRI's etc, is pretty pointless.

Also don't get why the medical staff keep getting heat for injuries- they don't cause these things you know, they can only deal with them when they happen. A lot of medical stuff is guess work- don't think people seem to grasp that.

All doctors speculate before they receive the patient, the have an idea just based on the reported symptoms.

really not newsworthy imo.

I believe the NY Knicks are not only the dumbest team in the NBA but are approaching the most incompetent team in all of the major sports. Melo is clearly injured but the Knicks let him go out and further injure himself against Denver. Then please someone explain why the Knicks would fly him cross country twice with a swollen knee. Why not just leave him in NY. They arent beating the Clippers anyway and even if they could why risk it. Are the Knicks really stupid enough to risk the next 2 years of this franchise. If Melo tears up his knee its all over this season and the next 2 the Knicks will be Fd. They would be stuck with broken players no 1 would want,no draft picks, and the oldest roster in sports. It would plunge them back into the depths of the Thomas Layden era. Yeah 18-5 was great but its over. At this point rest Melo and hope u can win a plyoff series as a 6th or 7th seed. Whats the point u really going to risk the whole franchise on 1 home playoff game. Since that is the worst thing u can possibly do , Yes then im sure the Knicks will

Don't they want the team PT guys to work with him?

They travel with the team.

Maybe Melo has some commitment on the west coast?

Are they "forcing" him to play? Is he ok to play? Or are we so depleted and desperate the combination manifests itself into an ignorant shot sighted decision based on "Season tickets sales for next season" drives it?

Is it "crazy"? Is it "stupid?"

Its the Knicks! Live with it. Enjoy the moments when they are there.

"MVP"!

"Exec of the year!"

"Woodson COTY!"

Melo is getting worn into the ground McGrady style. Amare is the modern day Grant Hill.

He's not in the top 10 in mpg or top 50 in total minutes. I don't think he's getting worn into the ground if you mean that Woodson is playing him ridiculous minutes. He's just aging.

If Melo's knee is arthritic he should get the Kobe treatment in Germany.

Even if Melo's not in the top 10/50 in terms of minutes I still think that Woodson's been burning him out. He's currently at 15th in mpg and Luol Deng only play 1.5 mpg more and he's 1st. Also, if you look at his monthly splits Melo's been playing more and more minutes until March: 35.3 in Nov, 37.9 in Dec, 41 in Jan, 38.8 in Feb, and 31 in March. From December through February Melo averaged over 39 minutes/game combined.

Now the joy of my world is in Zion How beautiful if nothing more Than to wait at Zion's door I've never been in love like this before Now let me pray to keep you from The perils that will surely come

There is no reason to believe any of these things, yet. This doctor is obviously making a guess, it may be a well educated guess but it's a guess. There's lots of times doctor's make different diagnosis with incomplete information. That doesn't nescecarily make the doctor's on our coaching staff wrong. It's too early to jump the gun and point fingers. Lets wait till we know actually what happened.
TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

The curse of Patrick Ewing lives, the only cure is Ewing being on the Knicks coaching staff.

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

The Kobe treatment is pretty amazing. It involves taking anti inflammatories that your body naturally produces and injecting them into the area that is ailing. Some people that get it need a yearly treatment and others need only 1 treatment. I believe Jeffries had this done last offseason.

I'd rather have the curse, we already have a dead weight in Herb.
