That would remove Tyson's salary which would allow us a full MLE--give us a second 1st round pick and use Gordon as a 3 pt shooter paired next to Caremlo. Im not worried at C we still have Camby Martin Amare and I dont think Tyson is the impact player we need for the $$ despite any awards etc.-he thwarts mobile offense.

Good trade but dont see Charlotte pulling the trigger. They'd want Melo before Tyson. They need a star to build around

Yea as a fan I would go for it, the 12th pick would in theory give us some quality youth that can contribute immediately and Gordon can tickle twine and give us another scorer to take the load off

I think you're on to something with this dealing with the Bobcats idea,

probably the only franchise with worse basketball decision making than the Knicks,

Or the 12th pick could turn out to be a scrub, which is the most likely outcome for a 12th pick. So for Tyson you get Ben Gordon, who you don't need if you have JR Smith, and a scrub. Your starting C is a 40 year old Camby who is always injured. how does this help us?

Bobcats gained a 1st rounder from Detroit by absorbing Gordon's contract while losing Maggette's expiring
With Henderson and Bullens looking for their payday it will be interesting to see if they sign them for long term or trade them for assets

Chandler is final piece you add to contend for a championship or at least to a team that is contending already, not a rebuilding team
For that reason I just can't see them giving up a lottery pick for a player that will not be happy there in Charlotte and will leave in 2 years
At the very least, I would expect to either part with Iman Shumpert and/or take back a HORRIBLE contract in Tyrus Thomas with Gordon for them to consider it

Agree. Also, Mullens has been playing well and looks like a keeper. They also have Bismack.

Bullens will get payed by somebody for his potential, my point is if Charlotte does intend to keep Mullens, it will be unlikely that they would take back Tyson Chandler because it would put them over the cap

Mullens will be looking at 7-10m per year, somewhere between Ryan Anderson/Ilyasova type money, but most likely will get less
Henderson has been one of the more consistent players but will be also looking for a contract as well

McRoberts has been playing many minutes for the Bobcats recently and might be a in their plans as a short term PF
He will be probably looking at vet min to 2 to under 3m a year with this new CBA

I think the Bobcats would keep whoever is going to be cap friendly while trying to get back assets in return, like almost every team in the league, they all have their eyes on the FA class of 2015, and will not over pay long term for players that are not worth jeapordizing..

Tyson Chandler does fit this description since his contract expires but he will not be happy going to a rebuilding team at this point of his career and Bobcats know that
If he can accept it and the Knick's take back Tyrus Thomas's contract, I would more back than a 1st rounder, maybe 2 total 1st rounders, or at least 2 more 2nd round picks....
They already have Brandan Haywood at 2m per year for the next 3 years

Only way I'm trading Tyson is if I'm blowing up the whole team. Without him we have no one to play center and our below average defense becomes a **** show. Like when we had David Lee playing center.
Now the joy of my world is in Zion How beautiful if nothing more Than to wait at Zion's door I've never been in love like this before Now let me pray to keep you from The perils that will surely come

Why do you propose trades that will never happen?

This is not a good trade. Without Tyson we are going nowhere. We will get outrebounded by 30 every game.

He needs to be part of the answer. This would not be a good move.

Well let's see....

Dallas moved in to acquire Chandler and Alexis Ajinca from the Bobcats in exchange for Eduardo Najera, Matt Carroll and its vaunted Erick Dampier trade chip as well as undisclosed cash considerations.

So the Mavericks ultimately elected to part with Dampier's contract in this deal because the Bobcats were willing to reacquire Carroll, which removes $11.7 million in salary over the next three seasons from a contract Carroll originally signed with Charlotte in the summer of 2006.

Dollars to Donuts Bobcats don't want Chandler's contract, we might be able to do something if we took on Tyrus Thomas' deal but then YIKES!

the answer to what question?
Is he the first true center we've had since Ewing left (aside from Camby who was always injured)?
The answer is yes. Considering what a difficult time the Knicks have had finding a center over the years, he's not a guy whose contract I want to "dump". Tyson has value on this team

He is no Patrick Ewing and this team will need change. The main assets we have on this team are Chandler and Shumpert IF we keep Anthony.... Lets be real--look at this team since 18-5 its only a fair team--thats what you want?

Chandler would have been great for the team prior to the deal for Melo, if we actually went in FA, we would have had the ability to sign him, retain our asset's for future moves, and maybe even keep Lin...

but who knows

any shot Memphis/GS would bite this summer with our rights to the pick for Bayless or Jack?

Bayless still has upside and both players are very solid players that we would HOPE our pick would develop in to
We need a quality upgrade at PG and we find a gem, none will be able to come at our pick to contribute at the high level

Melo, tyson and amare are not going anywhere in the near future. The most we can hope for is trading amare as an expiring contract next yr
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better
