You would think that because we were so bad all these years the focus would be on holding the division lead and winning a playoff series instead of the blame game on our stars and how to blow the team up. Any positive talk here is out of place. Some of the comments in these posts are just disturbing. You make a positive comment and people respond "can I have what you are smoking." This isn't right. The injuries add insult to injury but this board is crazy. I know people post here to vent but the "no hope" speech is getting old. Hopefully we can get healthy and get some rhythm going before the playoffs. I consider myself a level headed Knicks fan and will not forfeit to the overwhelming negativity that is the majority here.
since dolan has taken over he has driven the knicks into irrelevance. stern gave the knicks fans a break when he interceded on our behalf and forced dolan to bring in a competent man to clean up dolan and thomas's mess. we all waited for two entire years as we saw, for the first time in memory, the team being torn down so that it had a genuine shot at being built from the ground up and the right way.
after those two seasons, we the fans had every right to expect that money would be spent on a franchise player, or if not an outright franchise player, at least a big name. that turned out to be stoudemire. lebron led everyone on and we had to act and walsh did. to not acquire a big name would have been impossible. it would have been brave but it was simply untenable.
the knicks were headed for the playoffs in 2010-2011. at 28-26 they also had a ton of money and they had the nuggets over a barrel. they could have gone 9-19 the rest of the season and they still would have made the playoffs and yes would also have been eliminated in the playoffs.
but they would have had room to build and grow based on who was there-- amare stoudemire. they could have gone another season with felton and then allow his contract to expire while shopping for an upgrade at point guard.
then this season we would still be growing, while remaining a younger team. there would be no pressure or expectation to win now. instaed of youth and energy the knicks are the all-viagra team.
you can't go from roster flush to win-now in the nba without collusion. but the blithe dolan doesn't care about that-- and neither does melo. this comment he made befored the game last night of two to three years of getting his feet wet is total bs. what a crock. shameless!
the knicks are spiraling into irrelevance again. no offense but this was a fool's gold team as of february 2011.
you're upset but make sure you direct your upset in the right direction.
knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%
