Papabear Says

What if we loose 60 percent or more of the remaining games of the season and get bounced in the first round and come back next season with the same exact team with the same coach. Are you still a Knicks fan??
For me I say yes simply because I am a Knicks lover. There are teams in the NBA who never won a championship but they keep on rooting for thier team. I want to see how many on this forum would stop being Knicks fans. Or how many critics of the Knicks will swallow the pain and continue being a Knicks fan.

you always have to be a knicks fan it's just that the madness has no end in sight, this guy jimmy dolan is a real bum,

let's hope he strikes hot pancakes one time in the future like sterling with blake and paul,

only then can jimmy be redeemed, so we need to get a top pick and sign a superstar worth the bucks,

sometime in the next 20 years knicks will compete at a high level, we just have to be patient for the payoff

lets say that Jimmy Doolittle decides to fire everyone and put 5 eighth graders on the court. You still gonna be a fan?

We could go 0-82 for 10 years straight and I'd still be a fan, but I can't say I'd watch every game lol

I will love the Knicks no matter what but I would really like to see a legitimate playoff run out of this team.

If we stuck around for the 23 win seasons, why would we stop now?

Exactly

True fans don't ever leave their team, despite who's on the team, who owns the team, who manages the team, what transactions are made or how many games they win or lose. I am a Knicks Fan for LIFE, and my loyalty has been too consistent for far too long for it to ever be realigned.

It's been rough over the past 10-12 years sine we've been a perennial playoff contender, but True Fans don't waver.

Only fickle fans would ever switch up on the team they root for. Either one is a true fan, or they're less than human, IMHO. Such subhuman casual fans' opinions don't matter, though.

Those who switch up on the Knicks should be permanently banned from the forum and tried for high treason. OK, maybe that's too harsh. How about they just be hung by their toenails and forced to watch JD and the Straight Shot videos until they either get their minds right or their heads explode? Sounds like a win/win to me.

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

If you aren't a fan after that then you weren't a fan in the first place. A true fan is unconditional.

i believe the problem with the clippers has always been sterling first and foremost but then also baylor.

i believe by sheer ineptitude the clippers were in a position to draft blake griffin. then stern was able to put the deal through for them to get chris paul.

knicks were also helped by stern. but dolan squandered the opportunity to right the ship. it may well be 20 years as you say but it would be a crime to fall back into irrelevance, not that dolan gives a sh!t. it would be great if our owner cared about winning more than revenue and duping the fanbase.

knicks were a joke and a laughingstock for years and as such were irrelevant to all but new yorkers whether local or far and wide. i am pretty sure that rooting for a team with a piece of **** like dolan as an owner is almost impossible except for the hardcore fanatics.

but in a way time is on dolan's side because a sucker is born every minute.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

The only thing that could get me to quit the Knicks, or any of my other teams, is if management didn't care about winning. If we started selling our draft picks, like Robert Sarver in Phoenix, or trading away every decent young player because they're due for a raise, like Donald Sterling in LA, I would probably have to quit until there was new ownership or the current owner had a change of heart. It's why I was so pissed off this Summer after the Lin fiasco, even though there's a decent chance he isn't the key to putting us over the top, and why I hate the Sprewell for KVH trade so much, even though I could probably name 5 or 10 other trades that were way more damaging. I believe those moves had absolutely nothing to do with improving the team when they were made or giving us maneuverability to improve the team in the near future; they were moves made because of personal vendettas by the owner against the players involved. As bad and poorly thought out as virtually every move we've made since trading Ewing to Seattle for garbage on long term deals at least they were made in an attempt to improve the team.
Now the joy of my world is in Zion How beautiful if nothing more Than to wait at Zion's door I've never been in love like this before Now let me pray to keep you from The perils that will surely come

My love for this franchise can never change. They've been in my heart dating back to childhood days. Even my wife had to accept our Knicks when getting married. And now my daughter, she watches the games but too young to understand lol I grew up loving our Knicks franchise throughout the entire 1990's. 10 years of winning basketball. Memories I'll never forget. Unfortunately, I also had my share of heartbreaks. Especially during the times in which Ewing lacked another Star in order to get past Jordan's Bulls alongside Scottie Pippen. Or what about our postseason loses against Miller and Indy? We went I believe 3-3 during 6 series, but I'd be lying if I told you those three eliminations against Indy weren't heartbreaking. We ended up eliminating Miami during three consecutive postseason series, but to lose a game 7 during 96-97? Hurt. Was great to see us eliminate Miami during the next 3 seasons though. Losing 5 postseason series to Jordan's Bulls hurt as well. Deeply.

From 2001-2002 / 2009-2010, it was really hard on Knicks fans along with our franchise as a whole. But, lets stop acting like the 90's were peaches and roses when in reality? We had more heartbreak during 90's postseasons than 2001-2010 could ever compare/match.

So yeah, we had an amazing basketball run throughout the entire 90's, and then we hit a wall during the following 9 seasons. That's sports for ya. Cycles come and go. Even the Yankees have gone through era's of depressing baseball. It happens. Doesn't mean a real basketball head loses his deep love for his team and/or pulls for other teams.

But look at us today. We're on the verge of three consecutive postseason trips and basketball is as live as ever here in the Mecca. When I think of the Eastern Conference of the 1990's? I think of teams such as the Knicks, Bulls, Pacers and Heat. Here we are. And I LOVE it! 2012-2013. And these 4 Eastern Conference teams/franchises are once again, players at the poker table.

Of Course watching the Knicks lose is what Knicks fans do. God if I survived the horrible teams put on the floor in the 2000's I can watch this team lose

And when people too thick to comprehend this simple fact leave this board, we will still be around.
