I thought Shumpert played relatively pretty good tonight. Still can't shoot, but that's nothing new. I don't know what Kidd's problem is though, other than being 40

Agree. He was on his toes on defense and reminded me of the Shump of last year.

Raja Bell anyone. D and 3 plus he is old so he would fit right in. Utah and his agent are looking for a buyout partner or something like that.

Shumps D set the tone for the game.

His jumper was decent last year. I wouldnt want to move him unless we are getting a clear upgrade.

Hus Jumper was no where near decent last year. He started to improve in the second half of the year but the last month regressed if I recall. The key is still patience.

He is getting left open 90% of the time and only making in the teens I believe. That has to go up. AN avg player shoots 41%. Conversely, Melo, Novak, and JR shoot above 50 and their in slumps.

You are right but rookies come on slow.

I just want him to be able to hit those mid range jumpers.

Anyone think that Shumpert can recover from last year come april?

His D instincts are great, but his mind and body are not doing the same thing, hence him fouling or missing the pass interception. He does look smoother than last month.

I am in favor of starting James White for Kidd now.

He and Shumpert can guard the wings and makes Shumpert defend on top of the key, rather than fighting off thru screens. He is at his best ball hawking his man.
White on the other hand has the length and Athletisism to guard the wing players, also this allows felton to start of games against 2 guards.

A Prigioni/Kidd/Smith/STAT/Kenyon or Camby second unit can also work.

There's enough time for Shump to come back. Seeing flashes lately. Confidencmis the last thing to come back. His stamina and quickness is just about there.

Shump is coming off of a major knee injury and won't be 100% until next year. As long as he plays D and can start hitting some jumpers there is no need to replace him. We need to get Kidd's minutes way down and let him rest up for the playoffs. Nothing more.....

I am against trading Shump for a player but a player and a pick would be intriguing. NOt saying a team would give a high pick for Shump but if Phx love Shump so much they would give their real lottery pick and NY could pick up Oladipo.

You are absolutely right. It took me some time to see it but Kidd and Shumpert are killing us. We are getting butchered by quick guards. That is absolutely the weakness on our roster and may very well cost us the playoffs.

Shumpert was playing alright on Curry before he got into foul trouble. Kidd is still a crafty defender and smart passer, but he's hurting us with his inability to score any points. Woodson really needs to consider playing him 10 minutes/game max until playoff time.

It goes back to management. There was a concerted effort on the part of the fans to retain Lin last year. People were calling the ticket office, etc. and expressing to the team what we as fans wanted. They instead gave a fair chunk of change to some old guys (albeit good to great players) but really had no #2 to step up in the starting lineup (outside Stat, which was a big if.)

You reap what you sow. Really, we wouldn't be in this situation if we didn't give up half the team in the Melo trade, so I can't exactly feel sorry for Melo. We were very lucky to attract some of the vets, but injuries took over.

We need a PG who can see the floor better, Felton is mostly hurting the team with his poor shooting, defense and overall bad play). I'd really try giving someone in the D-league a chance to run the point for us, at least take a chance and Hope for another miracle.
