There is no way anyone is taking Amare's 20mm off of our hand--that is not happening and thats ok because eh can be very valuable.

What i think this team will need to do is to move Tyson Chandler's contract out--preferably for a high draft pick and concentrate on getting younger faster more skilled and more diversified

The Spurs have 9 players on their roster--three starters who have 3 years of experience or less the Knicks have 3 of which one is 35. This team needs to diversify its roster like the Spurs.

I think we need a skilled long PG a couple of young 6-10 athletic big players and another proven NBA 2 guard all less than 30 years old. I would be looking at taking on 3-4 rookies and 3-4 NBA now players(6-7 new players to replace what we have now). If we rid ourselves of Tysons contract--we likely can use the big MLE.

would hate to see him go but he's one of three guys on the team with real value at this point, melo and shump the other two,

but we know melo will not go anywhere for maybe 20 years, and we know shump will, so you package tyson and shump for pekovic and ridnour and sign a tall guy to man the middle while peko muscles the boards, ridnour sets the offense and i don't know what we can do with felton, maybe put him on a fishing boat and see him float away

How can we "trade" for Pekovic, when he's about to be a free agent after this season... lol. And he's not signing for cheap either. He's about to be paid $$$$. Also, a 32 year old Ridnour sucks.

Any deal that includes Shumpert for Luke is a god awful deal for our Knicks.

It starts with the draft. Hopefully the Knicks make a smart pick.

It's called a sign and trade which will not happen.

Would NY want or sign Artest for a low price? WOuld he help as a back up?

I read somewhere, Coon?, that if the Lakers amnesty Artest it will save them 33 million. He might be available and he might want NY.

My only issue with trading Tyson to get a pg or a sg is that in general it is not wise to trade your bigs for small guys. I would think trading Tyson and packaging him with Amare might net another big if you can get one but that would only be done to dump Stat.

Not sure if it works but Dwight Howard comes to mind and I don't know if I would want him here.

Im not saying necessarily to trade Tyson for any position but rather as a conduit for diversification.

Amare will be tradeable. Only 2 years left on his deal. In 1 year he becomes a fat expiring contract so a team not concerns with taking on long term salary won't mind taking a flyer on him for a year and trading his expiring contract again if it doesn't work out.

No more 34/35yr old dudes man enough enough. We need to bring in some energy youth not someone who reps QueensBridge as a keepsake.

Is Ron shot. I haven't watched the Lakers much. I was into the drama and disaster for awhile after D'Antoni first got hired but I lost interest.

Tyson, Melo or Amare are NOT going anywhere folks...that would mean that the knicks hierarchy would admit to making a mistake in acquiring their "big 3". these 3 wont be traded until spring 2014 (when theyre expiring contracts)
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

My list is simple. Move wing, pg, Donte Greene, and buy the rights to Patric Young in the second round pending he comes out. He will be a better pro player with the spacing.

Devin Harris, Colderon with a S&T?

Martel Webster, Belineli, Dunleavy

If Marion get the axe I would take him over Artest on a 2 year deal with a team option for the 2nd year or partially guaranteed.

Only deal that would make sense is something like Chandler for Deandre Jordan and Jamal Crawford.

Guys no matter how flawed this team is...theyre in 2nd place so they wont trade their core. Teyll just tweak the roster

Wait, some of you think we go young and build thru draft?

When? I love what the Rockets are doing. Can't do this in NY.

Layden tried, nobody let knicks do this. Let the deals expire and then collect picks and some youth (for trades or roster).

Remember, its NY and fans are too smart and "sophisticated" to rebuild.

Ridding yourself of Tyson's contract for nothing still leaves you over the cap. Knicks have 76 million on the books for the next three years. Chandler only makes 14 of the 20 you need to get under the cap, so you wouldn't get back anything close to what you'd need financially unless you could get rid of another 4 to 6 million in salary.
