What seems to be Kidd's problem ?
Drinking to much in Mexico
Just a 39 yr old slump
The game has left him, he's lost his confidence

He wanted Lin, not Felton when he came to New York. The difference between Kidd and Felton is a wide one. Kidd in a mentor position would have suited him fine. He gets to pass on his knowledge to a mirror image of himself in Lin. With Felton, he couldn't do that. Kidd is just wasting away as a Knicks and he's wasting away wondering what the heck happened in the last 2 months.

Kidd/Nash and Parker all have said at one point or another that Lin reminds them of themselves.

The thing is Kidd is still playing the same way mentally that he was from day 1. he is still committed on d. These other guys mostly arent. He may be saving his energy, be hurt, or just lost is confidence in this team. Or maybe hes just old, who knows? Also, hes not getting in a rhythm. teams are focused playing us. They know to close out hard because kidd isnt putting the ball on the floor.

Mark Cuban is probably relieved that kidd didnt sign a longtern deal with the Mavs. he dodged a bullet. The Knicks always go after older over the hill players

he was not meant to play more than 16 minutes a night. he has averaged 28 minutes a night. when he was fresh he had that offense humming. woodson relied on him too much, and as he has worn down the knicks have regressed. that's how bad woodson has needed him.

you can toss out the first month of the season. the ship be takin' on water.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

Kidd still believes he can play, and he said so when he first came on board, he still believes he can close out games.

I voted 39 year old slump but that's not completely true. This isn't a slump, it's how he played last season and it's what we can expect from him from here on out. So, not a slump because players can get out of slumps, this is just what he is now.

I hope he retires after the season. He's shot moving forward and that'll be $3,090,000 off the books next season for a better player....

That's not true, retired players still count against the cap.

Not too many know this about J KIDD, this not the way you report to a team vying for a Championship.

http://content.usatoday.com/communities/gameon/post/2012/07/knicks-jason-kidd-arrested-on-dui-charges-at-the-hamptons/1#.USjkoFcpmrs

TMZ reported that Kidd was carried out of the club he was partying at before he crashed because he was so intoxicated.

Kidd got in his car to drive off ... despite protests from his friends.

On his all-star weekend he was In Mexico relaxing not picking up a basketball.

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

You can't expect players to pick up a basketball on vacation during the ASB especially 40yr old ones

Shit, if anything I wouldn't have wanted Kidd to pick up a basketball. Dude looks tired as Hell out there and can't really do anything anymore even after getting a week off.

And you can't expect 40 yr olds to make this type of alcohol splash before training camp .

Maybe Cuban knew more about his life off the court and didn't guarantee him that longer contract.

We blamed most of his blunders on age, but it could be another factor involved. Some games his decisions were very unlike Jason Kidd even at 40.

the first thing to go when you are gassed other than your legs is your court vision. it's why the best players are most often the ones who have the best conditioning regimen. it may be true that alcohol is involved in his deterioration but this surely isn't the main issue. kidd is in shape but ancient.

basketball is a young man's game.

i saw blatche last night play at barclay center. now there's a guy who definitely looks like he has a drinking problem. twenty-five extra pounds it looks like he's lugging around out there.

Cuban was pissed Kidd didn't resign...no need to try to spin.

Dallas knew how keep him fresh...he hasn't played this many minutes in years.

That night Kidd was said to be partying heavily, even trying to hang from a light fixture before breaking it.

That fallout has sent the Knicks tumbling. One selfish decision to get behind the wheel after a long summer night of partying has pushed the dominoes, and here’s where we add the obvious caveat—at least Kidd hit an object and not other humans—before chronicling how he thoughtlessly left his new team in the lurch.

Dolan, the Knicks owner, is a recovering substance abuser and has never been averse to giving players second chances. He’ll forgive Kidd, especially if the media and fans beg the Knicks to cut him loose. Dolan and his good pal Isiah Thomas are likely counseling Kidd at this very minute.

Picture of Kidd's SUV, thank God he didn't get seriously hurt. But you expect this from a younger player, not a vet at the end of his career. I think this could be an ongoing problem.

I think Woody keeps Kidd in the starting lineup so he won't drift into the background , if he has a problem off the court. Too much money was invested in him.
