can anyone be kind enough to recap. I can't take listening to SAS today. It is not a good day for me so far..not even close
the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

Basically he said:

we got punked by a more athletic and better team. Pacers are no joke, 2nd best in East (better than us) - that is why they shellacked us. Might be bounced in first yet again.
18 - 18 in last 36 = mediocre in every sense of word. We have been mediocre for 2 months. Nothing special about us. We need front court help. We are so bad we are trying to get
an old and decrepit Jermaine O'Neil. That is how bad things are. Switching on defense tried to hide problems. We can't handle physical teams = very bad, don't talk about this
team past 1st round. Long ways to go.

Ruocco - If you say it's just one game, we've been saying it for 2 months now. Indiana (one of worst offensive teams, 29th) - and they scored 44pts in
2nd quarter, 74 in first half. Basically beat by 30 pts from start to finish. We can't defend anyone, offense is terrible. If you can sit there with a straight face after a team
like Indiana scored as much as they did, you are a liar.

SAS cont- Was an all star contest, layup contest, dunk contest - all performed on NY Knicks. The whole team is to be blamed (Melo, Woodson included). A team 1.5 games away from us
were up by 30 in first half against us - was a beat down. We can easily get bounced in 1st round.

That was the first 10 minutes and I can't argue with him.

Yep, can't argue with anything he said, really- hopefully the Pacers game will be the low point of the season. Time to get serious.

Yep. That was the jist of it. Had to turn the game off, and that's a rarity for me. Hopefully, the team will realize exactly what it was, and come out with an attitude and grit against the Raptors tonight.

This is kind of the way I felt in 2010 before the trade.

Everyone was saying that we were above 500 and playing well but in truth, we were playing horrible at that point.

the most valuable contribution was when colin cowherd joined them on the phone.

definitely worth a listen!

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

Colin Cowherd says diff between LeDouche and Melo is that LeDouche is unselfish. Melo wants to get his shots no matter what. SAS kinda agrees.

Comparing Melo with Kobe. Kobe is a lot better but they have the same mentality.

yea he killed Melo. But that guy does not know basketball. He says some of the dumbest things. He may know basketball but like the rest of these clowns he has no idea about the inner workings of the league

SAS at 1:19:37 talking about Harden and Lin and the emerging Houston Rockets "Jeremy Lin is making me re-think my position on him" "Seeing him feed off Harden" makes me wonder if he could've done the same thing with carmelo"

last yr he was calling Lin a D-Leaguer. what a Doooosh...

Actually, it is the 32 minute mark.

Saying nobody wants to play Houston right now.

Caller Victor mentions how pissed he is that Melo and other top players were giggling covering their mouths when they are getting beat by 30. SAS agrees and said he mentioned this before.

In 2009/2010 we were 29 - 53 (36%)
In 2010/2011 we were 42 - 40 (51%)

Melo played 27 games for us in 10/11. We went 13 - 14 there. (Pretty much 500 as before).

A 15% improvement is not huge but good. Going from sub 500 to just over 500 is an improvement. That is not backwards, especially with a young team.

28 prior to trade = 12/16

28 games post trade = 14/14

Melo did not make the team "much" better but the team was going downhill with Amare tiring and Felton once again being Felton.

listen at the 20:15 mark.

indiana the real deal.

it comes down to melo: what is the personality of the main guy. an unselfish player will wear well over the course of the season. melo is a gifted player/scorer but is really a B player. SAS tries to distract from the point by saying how nice melo is OFF the court. puhleeze. kobe and melo similar in that neither make others better but bryant is better than melo and has had better teammates.

melo's game works in college but in the NBA it is about the 2nd 3rd 4th players.

why do we always ask "will X get along with melo?"

melo unbelievable scorer and gifted player but he is not a giver. his game wears people out over a season.

shumpert is valuable.

he asks for patience. let the season play out. he doesn't think they beat the heat or the pacers or the rose-led bulls.

he thinks that melo as the superstar is not a title team-- good team yes, title no. he needs a really strong number 2 to make him change up his game-- like billups was.

melo is brilliant but flawed.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%
