The Magic and Knicks have discussed a J.J. Redick for Iman Shumpert trade. Other players (and maybe a third team) would have to be involved.

There will be players moved this deadline for sure get your seatbelts on folks and be prepared for takeoff

This kid annoys the hell out of me..

Nothing imminent, but it's something to keep an eye on over next few days. Redick helps NY win now, Shumpert gives ORL another young piece.

He may look like a kid, but weirdly he always seems to have great sources- guess players and GMs must think their helping out some school kid with his project.

This trade ain't happening though- Reddick makes $6mil, which makes it difficult for us to match salaries. We'd have to include Shump AND Novak, which makes the trade pointless for us.

Well with Rediick you really do not need Novak. Some people are proposing a Novak, SHump, Thomas, White, and Cope for Nelson and Reddick.

If Nelson was playing like he was 3 yrs ago that would be nice but the dude's shooting has plummeted.

Reddick sounds particularly enthusiastic about the possibility of being traded to NY:

Redick: "Could I live in NY? If my job was there, I guess. Not something I'd necessarily choose to do. Feel like I got it out of my system."

I do like Reddick for Shump. I hate to say that because I have faulted the Knicks in the past for trading away young talent. But Reddick fills a big need and perhaps we can extend his contract. He is only 28.

What I like about Reddick is that he is a career 40% shooter from 3 pt range and almost 88% career free throws. Near the end of the game, when thr other team purposely fouls, it is crucial to have a high %age FT shooter on the floor. They win games.

If the Knicks inolve a third team they can get Redick without giving up Novak if Orl doesn't want future money. They would also have the capabilities to flip Novak for something with that third team. Maybe even a 3 team deal with Minny to get Ridnour too if Novak was traded.

If we're taking Reddick's $6 mil contract, don't we have to give up approx $6 mil in salaries regardless of how many teams are involved?

Yeah you have to be close but it all depends on how Orl wants the Knicks to match. If they don't want anymore long term money the Knicks can give them the players with 1 yr deals. That means they still have Novak to flip if they want and add someone to take more money off their hands this year.

People are really going to flip when Minny surprises everyone and grants Love his wishes and trade with Ny for Amar'e, Novak, and Brewer, and picks. While Ny gets Love, AK, and Roy.

I still do it. Reddicks shooting would open so much and wouldn't get shut down or rely so much on the rest of the team getting him open shots. Hate to lose what Shump will bring to the table when healthy but, I think Reddick would have a more positive effect on the win/loss ratio

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

couldn't New York add cash to the trade instead of add other players in the mix. Or that ever oblique "future considerations."

If the Knicks can pull this off that would change the landscape of the NBA.

Kevin Love of course , the knicks can't out rebound teams . Love does what Sheed can do from the outside 3 ball and get offensive and defensive boards.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.
