na... need to see what Melo can do with his coach and his roster that nobody should be traded from come playoffs. Give them their shot.
Who would you trade Fish?
nobody. I dont really see a trade the helps us that much.
It just comes down to what do the Knicks have to give up? Jeremy Lin might have been a nice piece to dangle. Who are we offering? Shump? The only young talented player we have? OK.. are we getting another role player thats going to help us compete for a title this year? I dont see that. Dont see how Jared Dudley gets us there.
We arent trading Melo.
Amare is untradable.
Chandler would have value, but how do you have a roster with Amare/Melo and NOT have Chandler? With those two you need a defensive center who rebounds and doesnt need the ball (shots) to be happy. So our "big 3" stays.
Kurt, Camby, Kidd, Prigo, Copeland, Brewer and White are worth nothing to anybody. They are cap matching filler and nothing more.
There are teams that could use Novak for sure. I would put his value at a low 25-30 first rounder and expiring contract.
Felton would also have some value. Good player and nice contract, but teams will also be wary of adding him after what happened last time he was traded, which was pout and eat.
That leaves us with the only piece other teams would want... Shump.
No trades for me because of the above. Ride it out and give these guys a chance. Would probably do the same with next year also.
Then after the next two years of playoff failure Im moving Melo, Chandler, Amare (all expiring) for picks and young players and rebuilding. Certainly Melo and Chandler should have value at that time and Amare's expiring deal might fetch something desirable.
If they win or get to the conf finals then they earned their pennies and you use Dolan's money to add pieces.
That would be my take. No trades now
