Papabear Says

Wilson Chandler came to the Denver Nuggets from the New York Knicks in a trade that sent away star player Carmelo Anthony and veteran Chauncey Billups. Chandler on March 18, 2012 also signed a five-year $31.7 million contract with Denver.

It has been rumored on Twitter that Chandler has asked for a trade by the deadline of Feb. 21.

Chandler has averaged 9.5 points and nearly five rebounds per game this season with the Nuggets, and despite being the only player held to single digits against the Cleveland Cavaliers last game, his +/- was a team best +9. This shows his ability to help the team on both ends of the court, important when you like to push the ball.

Chandler could arguably be a starter on another team, but then again so could Corey Brewer, Andre Miller and JaVale McGee. Hopefully the rumors aren’t true. Hopefully this talk won’t affect the Nuggets current hot streak, and hopefully this team stays together for at least the duration of the season.

The Nuggets are currently on a four-game road trip before NBA All-Star weekend and are trying to jump past the Los Angeles Clippers for the third spot in the Western Conference. The Nuggets are only 11-15 on the road while dominating at home, 22-3.

Sometimes it’s hard to comprehend what is happening on Twitter, and sometimes it’s hard to comprehend exactly what someone is saying or wants to say. Professional athletes are human too, they tweet something, think about it for a while and then go back and delete it. Who hasn’t done that either on Twitter or Facebook?

Another casualty of war..I loved Wilson's game and what he brought to the court..I miss this dude on the court...We don't have the pieces to get him back...I would clear the bench to get him back but we have no bench...

how funny would it be if most of the pieces come back to Ny. I doubt there is a chance though that any trade will happen.

Anyway, What is Chandler trade value?

Not sure how much there is to this rumor as it would seem to be bad timing but Miller did this last year so who knows.

Chandler has no real position, role, fit, on this current team the way it's constructed or stye of play. While Chandler is a capable 3pt shooter that's not his true strength. He plays essentially the same position as Melo, he's not a 2 guard, where are the minutes?

I'd take him back but other players would have to make real sacrifices and not lip service status quo ones and our style of play would have to change somewhat.

We brought Melo here to play with STAT right?

Does that all of a sudden change depending on the availability of a once disowned child(ren)? It's Flip-Flop Magic Johnson style it's all good... woulda shoulda, coulda.

I would love to have Wilson back. Is he healthy from his hip issues? I know he had a big game the other night but it doesn't seem like he is getting many minutes. Not sure what the Knicks have to move to get him but I think he would be a great addition.

No wonder why Carmelo Anthony wanted out of Denver, doesn't seem like a place and/or franchise in which players dream of playing for. I already know Raymond Felton wanted nothing to do with Denver and loved coming back to New York City to play for the Mecca. Same with Gallo, he was not a happy person leaving New York for the Mountains.

It would be so funny if the Knicks were trade with Denver due to Wilson wanting out asap. Just imagine if we gave up Copeland, Brewer, White along with a draft pick and landed a 25 years of age (but often injured/hurt) Wilson Chandler. Would be so funny.

C: Tyson Chandler.
PF: Amar'e Stoudemire.
SF: Carmelo Anthony.
2G: Iman Shumpert.
PG: Raymond Felton.

C: Marcus Camby.
PF: Rasheed Wallace.
SF: Wilson Chandler.
2G: J.R Smith.
PG. Jason Kidd

With Novak, Pablo and Kurt Thomas as 11th, 12th and 13th men off the bench. Sign me up. Lets bring Wilson Chandler back home due to Wilson wanting out of Denver.

We only gave up Felton, Wilson and Gallo for a true elite NBA star in Carmelo Anthony. A 2x American Gold Medalist Olympian. An All-Star just about each and every season. One of our Countries NBA hero's who helped bring Gold home to America. What Melo did during the Olympics was simply amazing. Guys such as Randolph, Curry and Mozgov were nothing but throw-in career nothings. Denver's own Vice President went on record stating Denver lost this deal badly. Now, it's time to murder Denver once again. Copeland, Brewer, White along with a potential draft pick. Would be amazing. I'm not even a fan of Wilson Chandler, he's always hurt. But, if guys such as Cope, Brewer and White could get us a 7th man off the bench? You do it. Those guys are bottom of the bench riders.

We already got Felton back after the Melo trade.

Melo
Felton.
Wilson Chandler.

That means we traded Gallo for all of the above lol Mozgov and Randolph are nothings.

Loved Chandler but believe that injuries have/will hold him back for his whole career. Therefore, I would be hesitant to overpay

True. But at the same time, Copeland, Brewer and White seem to be end of the bench types of bodies. I'd be willing to take a chance on Chandler, a 6th, 7th, 8th type of guy off the bench.

Dude Raymond Felton wanted out because he didn't want to be Ty Lawson's backup. Miller and Kenyon signed there as free agents(keep in mind Miller has been traded 2 times by Denver I believe) still there, J.R. re-upped with MLE deal, Kenyon Martin wanted to re-up(after max contract ran out), as did J.R. Smith(after his MLE ran out), as did Iverson. Camby re-upped, Birdman re-upped, Nene re-upped, McGee re-upped, Ty Lawson re-upped, Iggy wants to re-up this summer. Billups didn't want to be traded here with Melo he and his family were somewhat devastated although he said all the right things.

Should I keep going for you?

Miller wanted out because he wanted to start too, but when he got his freedom this off-season who did he sign with? Denver! Gallo had a chance to wait to sign his QO but instead as soon as he could, he signed an extension. You don't even know if this rumor has real legs oh and The Nuggets tried to trade Chandler on 2 occasions since his arrival so what would be his reasons to show undying loyalty to them?

Good question. Wilson is good, but I just don't like him at his current price tag. I'd rather pickup Kenyon martin and Maurice Evans for less money combined.
