If Shump locks a guy down, he's dropping buckets,

If Amar'e slam dunks it all over KG's face, that's dropping buckets,

When Melo drops a double nickel, he's just dropped some buckets,

When Woody holds guys accountable, he drops buckets,

Dropping buckets is just playing strong ball, dropping buckets is dropping buckets, it can be scoring, dunking, swatting shots, stealing balls, as long as it's quality play.

Actually no, dropping buckets is when the ball goes inside the hoop... That's what dropping buckets mean.

Shumpert locking up an opposing scorer? That's considered lock down defense.

I'm telling you what dropping buckets means now, I'm not so much concerned with what you think it once meant

When a clumsy painter drops his paint? He's dropping buckets. Buckets of paint.

You edited that to add "buckets of paint"? I think we understood what kind of bucket a painter would drop.

About 2 hours after eating WhiteCastle, you'll really be dropping buckets.

That's like saying the French don't have a monopoly on the Eiffel Tower, Cordon Bleu or Edith Piaf.

That's a pretty wild analogy,

The English were the "architects" of the English language, but we use it every day, are you English? I'm not English,

'Dropping buckets', in the context of the UK forum, is what I defined it to be in the original post of this thread.

That's your opinion and I understand where you're coming from,

at the same time, you can't please everyone,

I'm not only comfortable but also confident of my application of "dropping buckets",

Please don't come off as a hater, I never pegged you as one.

Not trying to hate, just bringing honesty...It has to be catchy...Dropping buckets means one thing and one thing only since I was a kid playing ball..Some dude trying to redefine it on the Internet comes off like hipsters trying to reinvent cool because they now live in Brooklyn...

Dropping buckets was redefined on UK a long time ago, this is the first time the definition has been explicitly stated,

You'll always know what I mean when I say 'dropping buckets', and I will know what you mean when you say it, I think that's fair
