The Ghost Of Wally Pipp Haunts The Garden

"It's for sure a challenge, but whatever Coach [Mike Woodson] asks me to do, I'm here for. I don't question anything. I'm just glad he gave me an opportunity today and it worked out. But at the end of the day it is a challenge, but I'm getting better at whatever he asks me and I try to be ready."

Humility is one thing. Stepping into a starters role, after you barely made the final cut, is another. Chris Copeland should not even be here, let alone in the starting lineup. Whoever heard of a 28 year old becoming a star?

Then again, maybe its just the socks.

Will he continue to get the minutes? Looking at the log, he has dropped buckets in every game he's been given extended time

Funny, we were saying the same thing about Lin last year. The kid (ha-ha at 28 yrs old) gives another dimension to the offense. If we continue to get some penetration in the lane, who knows. We could be talking about "Copeland-mania" before it's all through!

Copeland needs to take Novak's minutes. He's shooting very well, can create his own shot and he's very long so it's not easy to get an uncontested shot on him.

I like Novak in the proper role, but without Felton on the court he's almost useless. I realize he had a decent game yesterday but Copeland should be eating into his minutes.

I like Cope and it has become clear he is a good shooter but something about his game is just slow and methodical. Despite that I do think he can be a Novak supplement when he is off plus he can dribble and drive when pressured. I hope he continues to get time because if he keeps shooting like he is then that can help everyone.

He is a very nice find so far.

Does anyone else think that Copeland plays like Sottie Pippen?

Major props to anyone who caught/catches the joke.

He has tunnel vision on offense, but he can score and that will keep you in the NBA.. if he continues some team will find minutes for him and sign him, as instant offense off the bench, I know several teams that can use that..

If he gets the minutes, why shouldn't he drop 15-20 a game? skilled and experienced offensive player

Yeah like there us this one team that obviously don't count for you. But it just so happens , I guess its a coincidence, that most people here like to talk about and its the KNICKS, who could use his scoring. I know I probably sound crazy to you, but its a true story.

Cope is like every other role player. They excel at some things and have other major deficiencies in their overall game.

very true. He really need to work on his rebounding

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

Has Chris Copeland ever dunked in a game?

Clean wrote:Cope is like every other role player. They excel at some things and have other major deficiencies in their overall game.

Players with size who can shoot from long distances, and create off the dribble, are rare. Copeland appears to be working hard. His vertical limitations may limit his defense and rebounding. In that case, Larry Johnson would be a perfect mentor for how to leverage a below the basket game for fun and profit.

Does Chris Copeland have stiff legs that no one noticed?

Or does he simply lack the flexible "turn and go" swivel hips of an elite NFL cornerback?

Somebody get Judith Jamison on the phone!

bargs needs to get out of toronto, really he does.. LOL

copeland I think can get you 10-12ppg, that would be more realistic on this team... and that should be fine....

dude, do you have to make everything about me personally.. come on man, don't get so emotional over my post.. we are men around here and some of you act so catty... really dude? really? come on... I am being realistic.. the knicks don't need another guy who just scores... sorry there is just one ball and we have two chuckers on this team.. what we need is a guy who can play two way ball off the bench, needs little touches and can facilitate... if copeland shows he can continue to score, some team that really needs scoring is going to offer him more than we can afford for that type of player.. simple and plain, and as a fan of the knicks and copeland, you should be happy for him.. if we lose JR smith, then keeping copeland may be more of a need...

Being that he's 28yrs old soon to be 29 I'd say he was a proven overseas player given a chance to play in the NBA. There are a few of them over there at the moment. He appears to be more a system player too and not exactly a ball sharer either.

No Sharrington Lite but he's solid and I'm happy he's making the most of his opportunity.

He's a good role player who earned his spot after a camp invite and he can put the ball in the basket.

Most posters cant stand you because you are purposely antagonistic, and annoying. I actually feel sorry for you --- you're obviously suffering from some sort of cognitive/emotional developmental issue. My guess is autism.
