Do we really need his shooting or, if we can trade can trade him for a veteran rebounder, NOT AN OLD GUY AT THE END OF HIS CAREER, someone like a Gortat, probably can't get a Gortat for him but you get the idea, someone that will play filthy for you

Yea, I would trade Novak for a veteran tough guy
No Novak's three shooting is too important to team

Lateral trade. That would be a panicky move. Novak might have a bit of upside too. Don't do that.

No way,I dont want anymore 36 year old guys on this team. I do wish Novak was playing as good as last year but he was exposed in the playoffs a bit and there's been some follow through to this season.

What we need from Novak is for him to step up a notch.

Knicks need another young PF/C type. Terrence Jones I think is going to be really good but is not getting any kind of time in Houston. I would ask Morey if he is interested in trading Terrence Jones for Novak and a 2nd rounder.

Lets trade Novak for Larry Bird and/or Reggie Miller. Or, even better yet; Patrick Ewing of his prime years.

Great thread.

You're right. Let's not talk about anything that may possible be a weakness or problem moving forward this season. The Knicks are perfect. No one can stop them. Let's only talk about the wins against Miami and San Antonio form now on.

wouldn't mind acquiring reddick in a trade with orlando.
knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

Novak isnt the same shooter he was last year lets be honest. he has only had a handful of good games. also teams pay attention to him now and he doesnt have any speed so even mediocre defenders can take him out of the game. Dont get me wrong i was a big Novak guy last year but he cant do anyting else liek rebound or defend so he isnt helping us much

Novak's nickname should be "gravy". When you have players who can drive, keep the defense honest and give him some breathing room he is a very good and effective complimentary piece to this team. As I pointed out in another thread, when we are closer to full strength I think we will see Novak doing the discount double check again because we will have more inside scoring. We only have Melo and JR right now for the most part which isn't enough to let Novak do his thing.

One improvement I've noticed this season is Novak is getting better at shooting with someone in his face. I wouldn't give up on him just yet. If things haven't changed by the end of the season, I'll be on board with you guys who want an upgrade.

NYKMentality lives in a world where the Knick are perfect and have no issues. even though we are like 5-7 in our last 12 games and our defense and ball movement has gone from very good to mediocre

I would trade him in a heart beat if the offense continue not to utilize him. Wood have no schemes for this guy.

Realistically, what is anyone expecting back in a trade for Novak, a 29-year old journeyman who has half a good season to his credit?

Answer: YEP

its bad but unless Novacs is making impact with jumpers offense off the bench
he's become a complete waste & inconsistent nil confidence. Give Novacs credit his D improved

But all in all he's been sort of a BUST this season with no pressure coming off the bench

Novak is paid much less than the average NBA player and he's basically a 3 point shooting specialist. I'm not surprised or disappointed with his play.

I agree with this. The team signed him to do almost nothing else but shoot 3s. When he checks into the game, there should at least be some focus on getting him open for them.

Knicksfan: Hypocrite league that fines players after the game for flopping but in the game and with obvious flopping they call the fouls.
