Say What? Says he probably won't play 1rst of January or possibly 1rst week of January.

He's probably had so many misdiagnosis/setbacks with our medical staff(public not informed) it's not even funny.

I believe he bumped knees in practice Oct 10th or thereabouts, then ruptured the cyst a week later and he's still not 80% from a bone bruise?

So the question is how does a 60-70% Amar'e help us if he returns early?

Why should he return early? is there a rush and what is causing the rush. The other teams in the division are losing and ATL just suffered another lose. Plus Ny is only a .5 game back of Miami who is struggling on the road so far(maybe they are coasting). So whats the rush to play in early January or the entire month?

Adrian Wojnarowski‏@WojYahooNBA

New York Knicks forward Amar'e Stoudemire will make his season debut on Tuesday against Portland, league source tells Y! Sports.
I hope that is a good move. The Knicks have been so patient with injuries this year. Hope they didn't jump the gun with Amare. That being said, I can't wait to see Stat on the court again.

Hmm, as that tweet came just after Amar'e had been to a Jay-Z concert, I can't help but think the 'league source' is Jay-Z

Really don't understand how he is 80% right now,

They're telling us first Christmas, then New Year's then this and that and this and that, it never ends

In my mind, if you tell me you're 80% right now, that tells me you're not coming back until sometime in February, this is unreal

Yea that's true, I think it was Amar'e himself that said 80%, and we know his history with yap yap yapping like a woman, so we don't know,

Amar'e's 80% could be like 95% to anyone else,

I hope he plays tonight even if for only a few minutes

The standard recover for this knee op is 6-8 weeks, at which point a player can play but won't be at full strength due to conditioning issues, rust, weakness in the knee and aching. Look at Dirk, he had his op a little bit before Amar'e and still has a ways to go. Amar'e has been out 8 weeks- he's right where he should be.

My grip isn't that it's taking a while for him to return, it's that they're yanking us left and right promising first Christmas, then New Year's, and so on.

Late January is when I really expect him to play, but now I am hearing SI said he will play tonight, so who knows.

They're not though- they genuinely don't know- we're at the stage now where it all just depends on how his knee and body responds, before he can move on to the next step. It was the media who made up the Xmas day thing, then guessed new year.

Yea I hear you,

That's what my gripe is, with the media, they're jerking me around like I'm a shelter dog.

The whole thing is that we're hearing for weeks that he's right around the corner then he comes out and says 80%, I don't understand how he is 80% if he's been around the corner,

Thing is that there is a wide gap there and it just threw me for some loops,

Yeah, I share your frustration in that I want him to be 100% right now! I'm also annoyed that Felton got injured just as Amar'e is about to return- now we have to wait another month to see what this team really looks like.
