When he comes back. Sure he isn't going to be as smart as Kidd on the court who is a hall of famer and one of the smartest players to play basketball. But in terms of doing the little intangible things, knocking down 3s, being a pest defensively not just on his man but active hands.

Shump needs to be tied to Kidd's hip while he is here soak up everything he can and try to emulate him as much as he is cappable. Weve seen Shump do pretty well during the 18-6 run before he got injured.

Kidd is Yoda.

He will impart wisdom daily to younger vets and when needed bust out the lightsaber and do somersaults and flips.

Wood said Shump was supposed to be the starting 2guard with Kidd backing up Ray. I like the thought of that because, we lose nothing on the defensive end and, likely gain an edge there. Shump has been working on his jumper and I expect it to be improved upon his return. We can use his athleticism and ability to slash to the rim, something Kidd is currently too slow to do. He's bigger and can switch onto anyone from 1 to 3 and be productive.
the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

Kidd is more of a SG these days, but i see Shumpert eventually taking over at starting SG (probably next season) and Kidd playing combo guard off the bench. I would also like to see Shumpert at the 3 with Kidd at the 2, but Shumpert is definitely Kidd's eventual replacement.

You have soooooooo many options once Shumpert gets back. There are not going to be ANY problems with his return as so many more problems get solved. This is not me saying Shumpert is a star. This is me saying we are much better off and a much better team with him.

The great thing about Shumpert is he can guard the 1 to 3 positions and even some stretch 4s some nights.

He can fit with any lineup.

and lets be honest, he is a serious talent upgrade over Brewer and white.. it's not even a debate there..... I like shump because he is a DOG, he will just get after it, and he has SKILL , to go with it....

While he's rehabbing, I hope he shoots a trillion jumpers a day.

That's the one glaring weakness he has, because he's actually a pretty good free throw shooter.

If he continues to take care of his body, and woodson properly manages his minutes, I think he will continue to be an effective player for us through the years.

I've been so impressed with J.Kidd that I would like to see him in a coaching role with the Knicks after his contract expires.

Me too that would be awesome but unless Woodson fails another team would be able to steal Kidd for a headcoaching gig

Maybe he can replace Herb Williams on the bench(sorry Herb).

I hope so, playing at this level on the other side of 40 is no easy task.. not many have done so.... so far, so good for kidd..

He's gotta be ironing Dolan's clothes on the side or taking his dog's out for walks in Central Park or something.

There's no reasonable explanation!

i know herb is a good guy and all, but what is his role? it seems all of our big men seek outside help on their games.... kind of odd.. not that I want herb gone, he is a classy dude, but what does he do for us exactly? LOL
