37-44 in the last 7 games. I don't know if any player has ever had a stretch of hitting 37 out of 44 shots. Maybe Shaq or Wilt did it. He's averaging 16 PPG on 7 shots a game in his last 6 games. Throw in 4 offensive rebounds a game too. The rest of the Knicks' offense has been bad during this stretch (43% FG).

I wouldn't call it hitting 37-44 shots. More like dunking 37-44 but he has been a lot more active on both ends. He said his body didn't feel right the first few weeks of the season and now he is more active and focused. Hopefully Flu Tyson has been laid to rest. He works well with Felton and Melo on PnR

Shots, dunks, put-backs, they all count the same. You're right that "shots" was the wrong word though.

Tyson is just not an offensive player but is usually longer and more athletic than any center he goes up against. Shaq was a dominant offensive player because of his size. Just a freak of nature

No they don't some count as 3 points. Tyson has been very good offensively. He is a good screen setter which opens the lane for other players to drive to the basket and draw defenders so that Tyson has room to get his.

I think Tyson sets the worst screens in the history of the league but he can usually outrun the defender to the hoop. But as far as setting screens for others he is the worst. KT & Sheed set good screens

I disagree with you on Tyson and I think Carmelo Anthony holds the title for worst screen setter. "Screen" Melo sucks.

credit Felton. He has a ton of good misses. He attacks the basket and while he forces things at times we have a solid group of guys who hit the glass, namely Melo and none better than Chandler

Definitely credit Felton he has perfected his tear drop miss/pass off the rim to Tyson.

I don't like how Tyson backs off a screen before the defender is even close to him. KT doesn't mind putting a hurt on a defender if he has the chance. Bothers me how few screens are set on this team, going back years.

I like Tyson's recent turnaround, I don't expect him to put up the same numbers but I hope to see the same kind of energy and enthusiasm.

One good sign for the Knicks is that there are times when the team looks like they're enjoying playing defense instead of acting like its a chore. The more they get into it playing D, the better they'll play and the offense will feed off of it.

This board seems unreasonably hard on Tyson. His shooting percentage is not an anomaly. He led the league last year. I don't care that he's not taking any jumpers. The guy knows what he does well and doesn't do what he can't do well. There's a lot of value in that. I'm fine with him not learning a face-up game or post-up moves. We've got plenty of guys to run post-ups for and to take our jump shots. I like having a guy we can count on to make take 5-10 shots and make 70% of them. And who hits 80% of his FT's.

I'll agree his defense isn't where it was last year, but it's been better lately ... just not dpoy level.

Guy's still incredibly valuable for us.

We would probably be around .500 without Tyson.

Tyson must have been nursing something sprained during that stretch when Flu Tyson showed up. It's night and day now.
