Something is wrong with Brewer unrelated to his finger--I doubt that for what Brewer is giving us right now--pretty poor in the last 4 games--of which 3 are L's--that White cant easily beat his production. Let White start and let Brewer heal what is bothering him(Knee?) he also looks like he could stand to lose 10-12 pds. I think that will give us more energy in unit 1. Prigioni is not getting it done--were settling for pirse poor play from him as a back up and we cant afford to run Jason Kidd into the ground as he starts SG. He needs to either assert himself as a player who can produce at the NBA level now--or the test is over. Im sure we can maneuver for something better--good teams do not have poor back up PG's its putting way too much pressure to keep Felton on the floor for too many minutes and we saw what happened today. Felton has been really good but were asking him to do too much right now.

Brewer's knee has been playing up- a few games ago it swelled up and since then he's had a cap on his minutes and hasn't played as well as he did. Unfortunately this schedule doesn't allow for much rest, and back to backs are probably the last thing he needs. Agree that he looks like he needs to lose some weight, but he looked overweight last season too.

I'd give Prigs another shot once Amar'e gets back- he looked at his most effective wehen running the pick and roll with Copeland in the preseason. Unfortunately he doesn't really have that type of player to pass to when he's in games. He's also said he's a bit nervous, and also I think he's a bit overwhelmed at the speed of the game. I think he can give us more than he has been, so I'd stick with him for a bit longer.

When Brewer is playing well it allows them to pull off some things they like to do. His perimeter defense, hitting open shots, extra swing passes, and smart heady intangible plays made a huge difference for us earlier in the season.

Brewer needs to get back healthy. If Kidd and Shump are hurt and Brewer is hurt then JR Smith needs to have a bigger role then they gave him last game and gave Felton a little bit of a breather.

I am not ready to give up on Pablo just yet. Woody needs to put Pablo in a position where he will be successful. This means putting him more PnR plays on top of the key. When Melo is out, take out Felton as well and let Pablo run the PnR offense. This should give Pablo 10-15 minutes per game. Play him with KT and Rasheed. Players that know how to play the PnR or PnP. His defense is pretty bad. You will just need to ride it out until Felton comes back in.

I agree about White. I would like to see what he can do.

By the way, OT, but that pull up from taking a layup and settling for a 3 by JR Smith was the worse basketball decision I have ever seen. That was video game type play.

It was. That had "Bad JR" written all over it.

I agree. Need more James White. Brewer's clearly banged up, and White has shown he's a pretty good defender and can provide a little offense too.

Fans keep calling for the PNR's like its magic.

Its a scheme that creats turnovers as well.

We have no idea what the coaching staff sees or doesn't see from White in practice. That being said, I'd rather see him playing at 100% and getting some rhythm and letting Brewer heal as we'll need Brewer healthy for the playoffs.

All this is moot if Kidd and JR can hold down the 2 spot for now.

Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please

This is a win now team. The honest reality is that guys like Jason Kidd Camby Wallace are not playing 82 games--more like 60-65 if everything goes well. With Amare and Shumpert down--we need guys who are on a win now roster who can fill in and we know what we are going to get. I think White will produce but Prignoni is scared to shoot and seems somewhat overwhelmed and hes 35 years old. Jeremy Lin @ 23 from the D League last year did not play like that. The problem is you shove workload on Felton--and he'll either stop what was efficient play or get hurt. We need a better player for that back up PG spot.

James White needs to earn a spot in the starting lineup.

You don't just put guys in to see if it works.

sure it does nalod as I have never seen an offense that was turnover free..

but if you want to utilize our bigs, and a guard like prigs, the magic of the PNR is what this team needs..

Tell Jeremy Lin that.

White at the 2...we could use the athleticism that's for sure. We need that glue guy to work off the ball. Brewer has shown he can do that but he's not healthy and why play him if he won't be effective b/c he's playing hurt?

JR needs to come off the bench and carry the offense for second unit, it's a necessity for this team which unfortunately does not have many scoring options in the second unit outside of him and Sheed at the moment. At the same time to do too much though, that's when bad JR shows up. Also, JR so far has been the best at finding an open Novak, and we'll need Novak to pick it up and be consistent.

It's still early in the season, I'd rather experiment now and have it figured out by the end of the season.

agree on Prigioni; he just looks totally unconfident and overmatched out there. we really need a 3rd point too since we play kidd so often at the 2.

hopefully once shumpert is back we can end the Prigioni experiment.

white should get more burn, woody should open it up a bit in the next few games with kidd out and see who can contribute

list of Free Agent point guards includes Derek Fisher. is Prigioni seriously better than Derek Fisher? Fisher knows the refs, other player's tendencies, has been in big moments. Prig is a deer in headlights out there -- if he's playing like this come MLK Day he should be waived and Knicks should scoop up a free agent. Fisher, Mike James, even a guy like Andrew Goudelock in the D-League....there's gotta be better options out there.

Rotation tomorrow needs to be

PG Felton - Prigioni
SG White - J.R.
SF Anthony - Novak
PF KT - Wallace
C Chandler - Camby

Woodson needs to have a little more faith in the bench or he's
going to run Carmelo into the ground, like D'Antoni did to Amare.
Carmelo played 50+ minutes against the Nets and was hammered
every time he turned around.

Prigs seemed like he lost his confidence after he got benched following poor play against the mavs. He still is a ball hawk.
