Guys are accountable. We're playing team defense. Everyone is happy.

This is better than Linsanity, this is a hot and wild start

If we're talking about magical runs, this one takes the cake because how magical does it feel to be in first place after 8 games, and ranked #1? We were never ranked #1 with Lin, the team was overachieving like crazy and bound to collapse.

I am happy with the current team in that the defense and lack of turnovers can be sustained over the longterm.

How good does it feel after 8 games? Pretty good but it's still only 8 games; Linsanity had a larger sample size than this. Right now, I'm still not convinced that it's sustainable but I'll enjoy it while it lasts.

Let's put it this way...People are currently talking about this team contending...Last year, people were wondering if we could make the playoffs...And if we did, we would be one and done which is what happened...With or without Lin...U can't compare the two..

Nailed it. That's the difference. We are playing much better team defense and we are not turning the ball over. And We've already beaten better teams than the linsanity squad did.

I think people are forgetting the excitement of Linsanity. That was an unprecedented, globally covered event.

Lin was a great time for the planet, this is great for Knicks fans. It was always heavy underdog now we're the heavy hitters.

Are fans happier that a team has global coverage or if they can compete against the best in the league and have a chance to do something in the playoffs ??

It was very exciting. It was a fairy tale that we all embraced. But at the end of the rainbow that team was not competing with the elite teams and there was still a question as to whether we were going to make the playoffs. This team and this start is giving us hope that we can compete with the elite and possibly play well into the summer....

This is all that should matter to a a Knick fan. Play that is sustainable over the course of the season and playoffs.

I am tired with the back and forth regarding ex-knick players versus the current knick team versus phantom trades for allegedly superior players. I am not singling out the person I am quoting or the original poster. I am just speaking in general. I can already see where this thread is going...

Linsanity was that summer fling you had at summer camp with the smoking girl from Sweden that you knew wouldn't last.

Now we're involved in a stable, satisfying relationship with someone who may not be as sexy, but damn it if we're not head over heels with her lock-down perimeter defense.

Big big difference is we r also not losing to bad teams and we are not just squeaking by bad teams either. There really so many differences. This also isn't Melo putting up 35, this is team contributions and great defense. This is just about scoring more points with no d.

one has nothing to do with the other. Starting with this being a totally different team. The only guy who was really around for both was Chandler.

Why do people constantly need to quantify this team? They are playing well... enjoy it.

Gallo sucks! MDA sucks! Isiah sucks! Wow... I suddenly find this team more enjoyable.

I always find current happiness to be better than fond memories. But that's just me.

Winning games with Melo scoring 9 points and suffocating 4th quarter team D is also makes for a more highly interesting Knicks moment than Kobe trying to figure out 38 points from the Harvard flash wonder. As entertaining as that was.

I just love it all. Blue Orange White (I do miss the black though). Life is good.

This year we have a contending team. However I will always love linsanity because at the time we were in shambles and an unknown pretty much carried a team for a couple weeks.

Woodson is too good a coach to allow long losing streaks. The good play will continue the Keys how they do in the playoffs with this core of Melo, Amare, Chandler and Felton

Linsanity was more than just basketball for me. My family actually planned on watching Knick games. It wasn't just Lin either. My youngest loved Novak. My wife loved fishlips defense and how he protected Lin. They even said Shump was the only ****y player they like.

Right now, this is great for a long suffering Knick fan like myself but having my family enjoy my Knicks with me is just in another level.
