“I’m glad to see Raymond back, I love Raymond." - Donnie Walsh

“Raymond has been everything and more for our ball club,” Coach Mike Woodson

Far from perfect (averaging only 15.5 points and only 6.5 assists), Felton was only 5-15 yesterday. For those who value stats over all else, the numbers are competent. However, there is something far more important to what has happened to our formerly familiar brand of Knicks basketball.

“You can’t have a bad shooting night and a bad turnover night. That’s going to lead to a loss. We really had to take care of the ball.”

- Raymond Felton

Felton is playing with a new set of men, none of whom were here during his first go-round in New York.

“I know Ronnie Brewer is going to be cutting to the basket when I come off the screens. I know Jason Kidd is sitting in the corner waiting for the 3-pointer. I know Tyson is rolling hard to the basket and Carmelo is in his spot waiting for the ball.”

Imagine what happens when his running buddies get to know him as well.

Felton has been playing well. Something that doesn't show in the box score is his command of the offense and his tenacious defensive. Love the way he fights through screens.

Im just glad our gm and owner didnt listen to fans and the media about resigning lin. Ive been pro felton and against signing lin from day 1. At the time, i was the minority...now everybody is on the band wagon. Feels good to have vets my age running this team at the most critical positions. Something we didnt have last year. And did i say how much i liked the woodson higher and mda fire. I knew this would happen from my 10yr experience watching mda in phx up close. Mda is perfect for teams with 1 superstar....mainly at pg. Terrible for this star studded team.

I don't think anyone here put Felton on Rondo or CP3's level.

IrishKnickFan - who, exactly, is getting mad at fans not dapping up Felton? Some people?

Let's not act like he is Toney Douglas or Charlie Ward.

He is talking about me Earl,..Knickshot and I have a back and forth about Felton and a few others, but in a light ribbing sort of way..I just want to know why does this bother my friend Irishknickfan..Why does he care so much about who is saying what to whom..

Felton has been great. I think even those (like me) who lamented the loss of our best prospect in Lin had to admit that in the short term if Felton was in shape he was probably a better fit. He's clearly in shape and playing some of his best ball. At one point I looked at his assist total against Indy. I think it was modest 5-6, but no TOs and that huge.

He's a real bulldog. His bodyshape almost reminds me of that bowling ball from UConn.. Kalid El Amin(sp?). He's wide, built almost like a RB and seems to brush off contact pretty well.

He makes a lot of misses in the paint, but funny as this sounds they are good misses. When Felton attacks the rim the other guys can follow his shot and we get a lot of putbacks and offensive rebounds on those misses.

Everything has worked. This team is the expendables... every player except Kidd and Shump on this roster was unwanted by their previous team. As the wins mount the story gets cooler and cooler.

Great to see him having a come back year- wonder what Blazer fans make of it, as they grew to hate him. Love his attitude, and his impact has been greater than his stats. He has his ups and downs but he's tough, and seems like he's the right guy, in the right place, at the right time.

The games that I have watched, Felton looked great. I was pleasantly surprised that he was able to attack the rim and his PnR game has greatly improved. He also managing the game really well in that he knows when to go Melo ball and when to go PnR. Love the defense but that is a given. Every player for the Knicks is playing at a high level but I give the 3 headed PG monster the highest praise. Would love to see more Pablo but Felton is playing really well.

Felton looks great. He has had an all-star impact on this team. 15 pts, 7 asts, good decision making, tough defense, is knocking down shots. He must continue to improve his shooting consistency, but he has looked very good. Has been a real leader out there and has been a big key to the success so far.

Forget Felton's numbers, the fact that he is so aggressive to get in the paint, changes the entire dynamic of the offense. If we had Felton last year against the heat, there's no way we lose the way we did. Novak could not have been locked in alcatraz with Felton wreaking the havoc that he does.

Dribble penetration is the single most important thing that was missing from our team and now that we have it, we are a much improved squad. And the dribble penetration creates ball movement.

We had to play Melo ISO ball last year, because it was our best chance to win given our roster in the playoffs. But now, its a diffferent story. I KNEW he would be a big difference maker, and like Donnie, he is the 1 piece I didn't want to let go of.

Great example, going back to the Spurs game.....In the fourth quarter, Felton scored eight points, created nine more through three 3-point assists (two to Kidd, one to Smith) and generated another seven (Kidd's second 3, Smith's spinning floater and Chandler's follow-up jam) by compromising the Spurs' defense with his penetration — the point guard had a hand in 25 of the Knicks' 32 fourth-quarter points.

+1

As you say, more important than the numbers is he has changed the dynamic of the offense, we are now a ball movement offense because he is so effective getting in the lane...

Exactly. Ray has really done a great job managing the offense. when he heeds to dish he does but when he needs to be aggressive he goes to the hoop

Although the best sequence of the season was the Carmelo to Felton-with-the-pirouette assist to JR Smith for three against the Spurs... Raymond has changed the efficiency for an offense that had more turnovers than the Pillsbury dough boy last season. The Knicks own one of the most effective offenses in the NBA for a reason... and that reason wears number 2.

On the dribble, Felton never gets bumped off rhythm with contact. But the best part, as CashMoney stated, is that his rugged defense.

also we have the fewest turnovers in the league because of the felton/kidd backcourt
